Trustly's bank relationships are the foundation of our Pay by Bank network. The Banks team is responsible for establishing, deepening, and scaling Trustly's partnerships with financial institutions across the US — the connectivity that makes instant, direct account-to-account payments possible for millions of consumers and thousands of merchants.
ABOUT THE ROLEAs VP of Banks, you will own Trustly's US bank partnership strategy end to end — from identifying and negotiating new relationships to deepening existing ones and ensuring Trustly remains the preferred Open Banking partner for financial institutions. You'll bring a deep network in US banking, strong commercial instincts, and the technical fluency to represent Trustly credibly in conversations about payments infrastructure, ACH, RTP, and data access.
WHAT YOU'LL DODefine and execute Trustly's US bank partnership strategy — identifying target institutions, building relationships at the executive level, and closing agreements that expand Trustly's network and capabilities.
Own and manage a portfolio of existing bank relationships — deepening partnerships, resolving issues, and driving mutual value creation across Trustly's ODFI network and data partnerships.
Work closely with Product and Technology teams to translate bank partnership opportunities into product roadmap priorities and technical requirements.
Stay current on the US banking regulatory and competitive landscape — including ACH, RTP, FedNow, open banking regulations, and evolving data access frameworks — and advise Trustly's leadership accordingly.
Represent Trustly at industry events and forums relevant to bank partnerships, open banking, and payments infrastructure.
Build and lead a small, high-performing team of bank relationship managers as Trustly's banking network scales.
12+ years of experience in financial services, payments, or fintech, with significant direct experience in bank partnerships, correspondent banking, or payments network development.
Established network of executive relationships at US financial institutions — you can open doors and build trust quickly at the C-suite and SVP level.
Deep understanding of US payments rails (ACH, RTP, FedNow, wire) and the regulatory environment governing bank-fintech partnerships and data sharing.
Strong commercial negotiator with experience structuring and closing complex partnership agreements in a regulated environment.
Technically fluent — comfortable discussing API connectivity, data access frameworks, and Open Banking architecture with bank technology leaders.
Collaborative and entrepreneurial; comfortable operating in a fast-moving company where you'll often be the only person in the room with your expertise.
