About the Role

We are seeking a VP, Business Planning & Analytics to serve as the executive lead for measurement, analytics, and business planning across one of Jellyfish’s largest global clients. This role is central to the client’s transformation agenda and will lead the end-to-end measurement framework that connects investment decisions to business outcomes.

This leader will own the architecture and operationalization of the full analytics ecosystem—

including MMM (via 3rd party), incrementality testing, performance reporting, forecasting,

scenario modeling, and business planning cadences. They will ensure that category-centric

investment strategies, media allocation decisions, and commerce optimizations are grounded in rigorous data and clear financial accountability.

The VP will serve as the connective tissue between Strategy, Investment, Commerce, Finance, and Client Leadership—translating complex analytics into actionable guidance that shapes annual planning, quarterly optimization, and in-flight investment decisions.

This role is both strategic and operational: setting the long-term measurement vision while building the processes, governance, and team capabilities required to execute with precision. The ideal candidate is a seasoned analytics and business planning leader with deep experience in MMM, cross-channel measurement, retail and commerce analytics, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Measurement & Analytics Leadership

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end measurement framework, ensuring alignment with the client’s growth transformation and category-driven investment model.

  • Lead the integration of MMM, incrementality testing, platform data, retail signals, and commerce analytics into a unified performance narrative.

  • Establish clear methodologies to develop and execute for baseline setting, incremental measurement, and business impact modeling across channels and categories.

  • Ensure all investment decisions are grounded in measurable contribution to sales, profit, and long-term brand growth.

Business Planning & Financial Integration

  • Lead the business planning processes, connecting media and commerce investment to revenue forecasts, category goals, and financial targets.

  • Build and maintain dynamic forecasting models and scenario planning frameworks to guide allocation decisions at defined cadences (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual).

  • Translate analytics into clear investment guidance, identifying reallocation opportunities across channels (including retail media and Amazon) when measurement signals warrant change.

  • Ensure media contribution and ROI are clearly understood and embedded into broader business planning.

Category-Centric & Commerce Optimization

  • Operationalize category-level measurement frameworks that enable smarter allocation across product lines and growth priorities.

  • Ensure alignment between media investment and retail/commercial realities, including competitive activity, promotional impact, and trade dynamics.

  • Partner closely with Commerce and Retail Media teams to ensure Amazon and retail investment strategies are integrated within the broader measurement model.

Governance & Cadence

  • Design and implement a structured review cadence (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi annual) that aligns with the Media Playbook and transformation roadmap.

  • Lead integrated business reviews, ensuring insights drive clear decisions—not just reporting.

  • Create transparency across baseline assumptions, optimization decisions, and incremental impact assessments.

Technology & GenAI Enablement

  • Champion the use of Brandtech and partner technologies to improve modeling accuracy, workflow efficiency, and predictive capabilities.

  • Embed advanced analytics tools and GenAI capabilities into reporting, forecasting, and scenario modeling processes.

  • Ensure teams are trained and confident in the application of tools, methodologies, and frameworks.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics and business planning team aligned to future-state needs.

  • Establish clear standards for rigor, documentation, modeling consistency, and insight quality.

  • Mentor senior analytics and data science leaders, strengthening their ability to connect data to strategic business decisions.

  • Serve as a visible transformation leader across the Integrated Agency Team (IAT), ensuring alignment between Strategy, Investment, Commerce, and Creative.

Internal

  • Model leadership that balances analytical rigor with commercial pragmatism.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive problem-solving.

  • Codify best practices in measurement, planning, and optimization to build institutional knowledge.

  • Partner closely with Client Leadership to ensure measurement supports—not constrains—growth ambition.

  • Act as a senior voice within Jellyfish and across the Brandtech network in shaping next generation measurement frameworks.

What You’ll Need

  • 15+ years of experience in advanced analytics, marketing science, business planning, or performance strategy within a global agency or complex client organization.

  • Deep expertise in MMM, incrementality testing, cross-channel attribution, and retail/commerce analytics.

  • Proven experience integrating analytics into financial planning and investment decision-making processes.

  • Strong understanding of category-level planning, retail media ecosystems, and commerce optimization (including Amazon).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale measurement transformation initiatives.

  • Advanced analytical fluency with the ability to translate complex models into clear, executive-level guidance.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building and developing senior analytics teams.

  • Comfort operating in matrixed, integrated agency environments with multiple senior stakeholders.

Advantageous

  • Experience working within a finance-led organization requiring high levels of governance and accountability.

  • Exposure to global measurement frameworks and multi-market rollouts.

  • Familiarity with GenAI-driven analytics and predictive modeling tools.

  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and business planning sessions.
