- Lead the engineering teams responsible for core cloud infrastructure, compute, networking, container orchestration, and internal platform services
- Define and drive the vision, architecture, and roadmap for a self-service, secure, and highly available cloud platform
- Ensure a high standard of operational excellence through automation, monitoring, observability, incident management, and capacity planning
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to build platforms that are secure by design and meet regulatory standards
- Partner with Developer Experience and SRE to streamline the development-to-deployment lifecycle and improve developer velocity
- Lead modernization efforts such as infrastructure-as-code, service mesh adoption, multi-cloud strategy, or internal platform APIs
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class team of platform engineers and engineering leaders
- Manage the Cloud Engineering, Storage, and Compute environment
- Serve as a thought leader, driving the AWS architecture and strategy
- Execute successful program delivery by defining objectives, aligning resources, leveraging GenAI, and fostering collaboration and contributions across teams to ensure impactful outcomes
- Leverage Kubernetes (AWS EKS) technology to deploy, install, upgrade, patch, and maintain resilient, reliable solutions for developing, testing, securing, and shipping software applications to production
- Evolve infrastructure to be deployed via pipelines whereby cloud services, IaC code, base images, yaml files are integrated to create full stack patterns raising the level of infrastructure abstraction to the point where software developers focused on business capabilities
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and performance metric tracking to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality products
- Improve NYL Cyber Security through efficient processes to detect and remediate vulnerabilities and non-standard configurations in infrastructure services
- Build and maintain strong relationships to promote cross-tech contributions focused on improving developer experience
- Review monthly service management and consumption metrics for your products and services and address any deviations or SLA deficiencies
- Maintain and enhance the product and service catalog for infrastructure services including monthly updates to consumers providing advice on cost control levers
- Benchmark your product per unit costs annually to maintain competitive and accurate pricing.
Business & Technology Skills:
- Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams to adopt infrastructure shared services

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
- One or more AWS certifications
- Expert in AWS Well Architected Framework
- Indepth knowledge of API development and standards
- Practical experience in developing and deploying ML/AI driven developer experiences
- In depth technical knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS Services, Terraform, and one or more software development frameworks
- At least five years of leadership experience
- At least five years of software development experience
- 10 years' experience building and supporting AWS cloud services in large enterprise environments
