Leads Nitra’s lending business as its general manager, owning revenue, originations, portfolio performance, product expansion, partnerships, credit strategy, underwriting, pricing, risk controls, collections, fraud management, lending infrastructure, capital planning, and team development. The role launches and scales healthcare-focused lending products, including factoring, equipment finance, working capital, leasing, and commercial real estate programs, while balancing growth, risk, and portfolio economics.
Who we are:
Nitra's mission is to build a more efficient healthcare system and the technology that makes it possible. Our goal is to provide an ecosystem of fintech and software solutions that help doctors better manage their practices, so they can have time back to focus on what matters to them most.
We operate with urgency, intensity, and ambition. The bar is high because the opportunity is massive. We expect excellence, ownership, and intellectual rigor from every team member. We move fast, make bold decisions, and hold ourselves accountable to results. At the same time, we believe great companies are built on trust and respect. Every voice matters. Every contribution counts. When we win, we win together.
We are scaling rapidly and on a clear trajectory toward becoming a unicorn this year — and beyond. Our growth is not accidental; it’s the result of disciplined execution, relentless focus, and a team that refuses to settle. We are building a category-defining company, and we’re looking for people who want to do the most meaningful work of their careers.
If you want comfort, this isn’t the place.
If you want impact, ownership, and the chance to help build a generational fintech company, welcome.
Nitra was created by unicorn founders who have successfully scaled to thousands of customers and exited $1B+ public offerings. They are joined by an ambitious and experienced team from American Express, Citi, PayPal, Capsule, Plaid, Bloomberg, Meta, Facebook, and Mastercard. The team is backed by some of the world’s leading VCs (Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, etc.) and is supported by an expert group of advisors including the cofounders of Square and Xendit, executives from Intuit, former Governors, White House senior staffers, and a co-founder of CityMD.
Nitra maintains a hybrid work policy, with team members working from the office four days per week and Wednesdays designated as a work-from-home day.
We're looking for:
We are seeking a VP of Commercial Lending, Risk, and Underwriting to build and lead Nitra’s lending business. This is a senior, entrepreneurial role responsible for driving new lending revenue while building the credit and risk infrastructure required to scale responsibly.
The VP will effectively serve as the GM of Nitra’s lending business, overseeing existing lending products while identifying, launching, and scaling new lending categories across healthcare. The ideal candidate has a strong commercial lending or credit background, experience launching lending products or programs, and the judgment and entrepreneurial mindset to operate in a high-growth environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own and grow Nitra’s lending business, with accountability for originations, interest and fee revenue, gross profit, and portfolio performance.
- Oversee and expand FlexPay, Nitra Claims Factoring, and Equipment Lending, while developing new equipment leasing, working capital, and commercial real estate lending programs.
- Identify and launch new lending products and credit programs based on customer needs, market opportunities, and Nitra’s broader banking strategy.
- Develop new origination channels and strategic partnerships with PE-backed sponsors, MSOs, healthcare operators, and credit-intensive specialties.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to identify lending opportunities within Nitra’s existing customer base and create repeatable cross-sell and referral motions.
- Design credit strategies, underwriting frameworks, pricing, eligibility criteria, and risk parameters for new lending products.
- Build and scale underwriting, portfolio monitoring, collections, and fraud management processes, including automation and technology-enabled risk controls.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively manage delinquencies, defaults, concentration risk, and other emerging credit risks.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to build scalable lending infrastructure and operational workflows.
- Help build the team, processes, and capital infrastructure required to scale Nitra’s lending business.
You have:
- 10+ years of experience in commercial lending, commercial banking, private credit, specialty finance, equipment finance, healthcare finance, or a related credit environment.
- Proven experience building, launching, or scaling lending products or programs, ideally from the ground up.
- Strong commercial credit underwriting, structuring, pricing, and portfolio management experience.
- Experience across one or more relevant areas including healthcare lending, equipment finance, working capital, receivables, asset-backed lending, or specialty finance.
- A track record of turning credit expertise into new products, markets, partnerships, or revenue opportunities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently, make decisions with imperfect information, and build in a high-growth environment.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance growth, risk, and portfolio economics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with senior leadership, customers, capital partners, and strategic partners.
We Offer:
- Equity - Everyone at Nitra is an owner. When the company wins, you win.
- Competitive Salary - You’re the best of the best, and your salary will reflect your experience and reward your contributions to Nitra.
- Health Care - Your health comes first. We offer comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance options.
- Retirement Benefits - Your financial stability matters to us so we provide a generous employer 401K match.
