THE OPPORTUNITY

Provides support to the execution of independent credit review examinations across loan portfolios to assess credit risk management practices, validate risk ratings, and confirm overall portfolio quality. Supports accurate reporting to the Board, Enterprise Risk Committee, executive management, auditors, and regulators. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Supports credit review examinations across a range of lending portfolios, including Venture Banking (Life Sciences and Technology), Equity Funds, Lender Finance, Corporate Asset Finance, Commercial Real Estate and Consumer portfolios.
  • Assists with the issue management process for lending unit examinations, including tracking findings, monitoring remediation progress, and supporting validation and closure activities
  • Contributes to ongoing enhancements of the Credit Review program by identifying gaps in coverage, consistency, and risk assessment practices
  • Applies established risk assessment frameworks to support identification and monitoring of key credit risks, including early signs of portfolio deterioration
  • Identifies gaps in underwriting, portfolio management practices, and risk rating accuracy; documents observations and escalates as appropriate
  • Supports the evaluation of management’s ability to effectively administer credit risk, including exposures and portfolio concentrations
  • Performs detailed credit analysis across various products, including validation of financial analysis, global cash flow, and repayment sources
  • Assists in confirming that Credit Review risk rating changes are accurately reflected in systems of record
  • Monitors adherence to Credit Policies, Standards, and Procedures and helps identify control gaps and policy exceptions
  • Supports Examiner-in-Charge (EIC) efforts by assisting with coordination activities, maintaining workpapers, and ensuring documentation is complete and organized
  • Contributes to the development of risk-based findings and supports exam report preparation and management discussions
  • Maintains effective working relationships with lending teams, credit administration, internal audit, and other stakeholders
  • Completes due diligence reviews, targeted portfolio assessments, and other ad hoc assignments as needed
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit risk management, underwriting, portfolio management, or related credit risk functions
  • 7+ years of experience supporting credit examinations across a range of commercial and specialty credit portfolios, including Venture Banking (Life Sciences and Technology), Equity Funds, Lender Finance, Corporate Asset Finance, Commercial Real Estate and Consumer portfolios.
  • Prior experience within a large financial institution in credit review, credit administration, lending, or credit officer roles
  • Working knowledge of credit risk assessment, lending practices, and regulatory and internal credit standards
  • Experience working with credit systems and databases to support analysis and reporting preferred
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles, regulatory guidance, and credit administration practices
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to lending activities, as well as applicable state and federal regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a variety of commercial and consumer credit structures, including middle market and specialty credits
  • Ability to operate effectively in a client-focused, consultative environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and support risk assessments
  • Solid quantitative skills, including the ability to perform financial calculations and interpret data
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting broader examination efforts
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly document observations and support discussions with management
  • Ability to navigate complex situations with multiple variables and support issue resolution with relevant experience in Credit Review
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

SALARY RANGE

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
