Job Description:

Merkle is looking for a hands‑on technical VP of Solution Engineering to guide presales and solutioning for our clients across CMS, DAM, and workflow management solutions. You will work directly with sales, client partners, and executive leadership to shape complex solutions, win new business, and influence digital transformation initiatives for global enterprise clients.

You will oversee the solution architecture in the presales cycle, lead client workshops, develop proof‑of‑concept demos, and craft winning RFP responses that integrate CMS/DAM/workflow platforms into modern composable and multi‑cloud marketing ecosystems.

This is a hands‑on expert role—you will partner with our engineers and architects but also design solutions, pitch to executives, and guide clients through the “art of the possible.”

This is a remote position, reporting to Vice President, Content Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Presales & New Business

    • Partner with sales and client teams to design solutions to win large scale marketing technology opportunities

    • Oversee solution architecture for CMS, DAM, and workflow initiatives, including headless and composable implementations.

    • Lead technical discovery and workshops with client stakeholders, bridging business needs and technical solutions.

    • Develop compelling demos and POCs that showcase CMS/DAM/workflow capabilities in enterprise environments.

    • Collaborate on RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and pitch materials

  • Solution & Technical Leadership

    • Define integration approaches for CMS/DAM/workflow solutions in multi‑cloud, composable architectures.

    • Maintain expertise in Adobe Experience Cloud (AEM, Workfront, Assets) and familiarity with other leading platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Contentful, Bynder, Aprimo).

    • Provide forward‑looking technical POVs for marketing, thought leadership, and client presentations.

    • Partner with delivery architects and engineers to validate feasibility and solution integrity.

  • Client & Market Impact

    • Be a trusted technical advisor during presales and early delivery phases.

    • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive stakeholders.

    • Help expand Merkle's reputation as a leader in composable content and marketing ecosystems.

What Success Looks Like

  • Direct contribution to new business and growth

  • Recognized by clients and internal teams as the go‑to presales expert for CMS/DAM/workflow solutioning.

  • Create repeatable solution patterns, demos, and POVs that accelerate sales cycles.

  • Execute technical workshops, pitches, and proposals that inspire client confidence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • 10+ years in solution engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting with CMS/DAM/workflow platforms.

  • Deep Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Workfront expertise; familiarity with other leading CMS/DAM platforms (Sitecore, Contentful, Bynder, Aprimo, etc.).

  • Experience with headless, composable, and multi‑cloud architectures.

  • Background in hands‑on presales work: RFP responses, technical workshops, and client demos.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings, workshops, and pitches.
