Job Purpose / Background:

The US iShares Equities team is seeking to hire a lead product strategist to oversee a critical growth engine for the US iShares ETF platform: thematic and subsector ETFs. The ideal candidate will display strategic vision, domain expertise across ETFs and thematic strategies, strong commercial instincts, as well as superb communication skills with clients and senior stakeholders. The focus of the role is to partner across product, marketing, portfolio management teams, and distribution to drive commercial initiatives including supporting new product innovation, scaling new products, training sales partners, and developing and delivering content for a variety of client channels.

The thematic and subsectors product segment is top strategic priority for the US iShares platform. Spanning index and active strategies, this segment leads the industry with $150bn in AUM and is growing at a rapid pace. The segment includes funds targeting major structural ‘mega forces’ including AI, geopolitics, and demographics. We are passionate about offering high-quality products that can help investors gain access to a range of innovative exposures and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evolve the strategic vision our Thematic & Subsector ETF offering, expanding the firm’s leadership in the segment and remaining at the forefront of major structural trends

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader across Wealth, Institutional, and Individual Investor channels, developing and communicating forward-thinking narratives, paired with product expertise and portfolio construction insights

  • Partner with Product Innovation to develop a long term product roadmap including building next gen products with strong commercial appeal and enhancing existing products

  • Manage and develop a high performing team

  • Partner with active portfolio managers and marketing to develop engaging scaled content for professional and individual investors

  • Facilitate connectivity with partners across the global product solutions (GPS) organization to leverage product concepts, content, and commercial activations around the world

Skills & Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA, MFE, or CFA preferred, Series 7 & 63 required within 6 months of starting

  • US travel required

  • 10+ years industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge and proven client facing capability. 

  • ETF product familiarity and direct industry experience required

  • Thematic or technology investment experience/expertise required

  • Proven team-leader, able to set strategic vision, achieve buy-in from senior leaders, partners, and reports, and drive a high performing team

  • High level of self-motivation, with a business-owner’s mindset, and strong integrity & ethics

  • Superlative communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a range of audiences, including on main stages at client events, social media videos, and with senior internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast-paced environment

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$200,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
