Summary
OneStream is searching for an experienced Vice President of Operations & Commercial Finance to serve as the strategic leader of revenue strategy, revenue metrics, and revenue transformation, with excellent revenue accounting and financial planning and analysis experience. This Vice President will be responsible for setting the overall strategic vision to drive and manage revenue metrics, accounting, revenue methodology, and related compliance processes, while leading company strategy in commercial finance — partnering with sales and commercial leadership on deal economics, discounting, and margin management — in a high growth, fast paced environment. You will work cross-functionally with sales organization and other accounting and finance teams to enhance our internal processes and systems to drive full compliance and automation of the revenue recognition and revenue metrics.
This role will understand the details of revenue metrics, their drivers, and strategy to improve and performance for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. It will guide and advise senior leadership and the board. You will be the subject matter expert for the revenue accounting ASC 606 compliance and will engage with our teams to provide thought leadership and assist in structuring complex sales transactions. Collaboration with office of the Chief Revenue Office, Chief Customer Officer, finance and other functions or customers is a must.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the partnership with sales, revenue operations, Pricing & Packaging and commercial leadership on deal structuring, discounting strategy, and margin analysis to protect profitability across the deal lifecycle.
- Serve as the executive leader for commercial finance and profitability optimization, providing financial insights, investment analysis, and business case support for pricing and packaging decisions.
- Lead revenue transformation initiatives — including process, systems, and organizational redesign — to scale the deal desk, revenue accounting, reporting, and analytics function as the company grows.
- Partner with executive leadership across the Sales & Delivery and Enablement functions to drive strategy, decision-making, and execution, as well as enhanced visibility and predictable financial results via key insights, growth drivers, and metrics.
- Lead company strategy around revenue metrics, pricing and packaging, revenue transformation, and commercial finance — partnering with sales and commercial leadership on deal economics, discounting, and margin management.
- Lead strategic initiatives including quoting, contracting, and all aspects of accounting and business partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Customer Officer.
- Lead strategic deal negotiation collaboration for most desirable outcomes for OneStream.
- Lead deal desk operations, financial approvals, margin governance, customer expansion economics, and process efficiency initiatives, partnering closely with the Pricing & Packaging function to ensure alignment with pricing policies, new product monetization strategies, and commercial frameworks.
- Transform product strategy, including AI metrics, collaboration and including AI, potential risks and operations.
- Set strategic direction for revenue recognition methodology, ensure execution meets ASC 606 compliance requirements.
- Oversee revenue recognition (revenue and contract costs) process for the company.
- Work closely with Services, Sales Operations and Finance teams to ensure appropriate SOWs and change orders meet defined criteria for factors to support profitability and collections of consulting services.
- Manage support services of the Delivery and Enablement functions including education services, time tracking, strategic initiatives and monthly accounting and reconciliation.
- Lead partnership with Customer Success to develop strategy, execution of roadmaps and customer journey metrics, success metrics and partnership of strategic campaigns.
- Lead commissions processes and partnership with Revenue Operations/Sales Orgs for commission plan design and attainment, ensuring alignment with comp plan and deal/company value economics.
- Own commercial finance reporting and KPIs — including discount rates, deal margins, and ACV/ARR economics — for executive and board audiences.
- Direct and collaborate with the sales organization to ensure controls and processes are in place.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 10 or more years of finance leadership experience, 5 years in a senior leadership role directing revenue strategy, metrics, and transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Software/SaaS revenue recognition rules, mainly ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15.
- Public Accounting Experience required.
- CPA required, MBA or other advanced degree is a plus but not required.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience in commercial finance or deal desk functions, including margin, discounting, and pricing analysis in partnership with sales organizations.
- Demonstrated success partnering with commercial growth functions, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and Product leadership.
- Experience leading enterprise forecasting disciplines, including rolling forecast methodologies and scenario-based planning.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with Tech company (On-Prem and/or SaaS).
- Experience with growing company.
- Experience working with sales organizations including deal desk and business development strategies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Software/SaaS revenue recognition rules, mainly ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15.
- Able to give clear and consistent recommendations and/or instructions to team members.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
- Exceptional writing proficiency and oral presentation skills.
- Excellent listening, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze deal economics and guide pricing and discounting decisions that protect margin.
