  • Design offerings for curriculum and instructional content development, editorial services, assessment content, standards alignment, state adaptations, print and digital production, accessibility, and content modernization.
  • Advise clients on content architecture, metadata, single-source publishing, authoring workflows, and responsible use of AI to improve quality, speed, and reuse.
  • Lead discovery with publisher and EdTech executives, curriculum leaders, and product teams; translate requirements into solution approaches, phased scopes, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management on strategic pursuits, proposals, pricing inputs, client presentations, account growth, and new business development.
  • Guide the design and execution of content programs across grade bands and subjects, establishing editorial quality, instructional integrity, standards accuracy, accessibility, and production expectations.
  • Build repeatable methods and delivery models that connect onshore subject matter and editorial leadership with distributed production, engineering, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Assess project economics, staffing, risks, and delivery performance with practice and account leaders; improve solution profitability without compromising content quality.
  • Build and coach a small team of content solution leaders while influencing cross-functional teams and strengthening customer-facing expertise.
  • Represent Academian in executive discussions and industry forums, developing relationships and identifying opportunities for partnerships and co-development.
QualificationsRequired
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in U.S. K–12 educational publishing, curriculum development, instructional content, or related content solutions.
  • Deep understanding of K–12 curriculum design, standards alignment, editorial development, assessment, adoption requirements, and print and digital publishing workflows.
  • Experience leading complex content programs from discovery and solution design through development, production, quality assurance, and launch.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships, lead proposals and executive presentations, and contribute to revenue growth and account expansion.
  • Ability to define scopes, estimate delivery effort, balance quality and cost, and guide cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; willingness to travel approximately 25%.
Preferred
  • Experience across core, supplemental, intervention, CTE, science, literacy, mathematics, or assessment programs.
  • Knowledge of content models, metadata and taxonomy, structured content, publishing automation, and accessible digital content.
  • Experience applying AI to content workflows with appropriate editorial review and quality controls.
  • Experience with state-specific customization, large-scale curriculum production, strategic partnerships, or co-development.
  • Experience managing solution economics, budgets, or revenue targets. This role does not carry direct P&L ownership.
  • Advanced degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Business, or a related field.
