About Spark Advisors

We're building healthcare tech for a system that desperately needs it.

Each year, millions of Americans deal with confusing changes to their Medicare plans that impact their prescriptions, access to care, and pocketbooks. These aren’t just inconveniences – they are potentially life-altering changes that leave seniors medically and financially vulnerable.

Independent Medicare advisors play a crucial role in guiding seniors through this complexity and helping them find the right coverage for their needs. But their ability to be effective healthcare advocates has long been hamstrung by broken tools and outdated systems.

Spark is fixing that. We’re the fastest-growing Medicare platform in the country, combining AI, an industry-leading CRM, and client services to transform how 10,000+ brokers acquire, enroll, and support clients in their local communities.

Join a talent-dense team from Square, Ramp, Yext, Oscar, and Cedar — backed by Primary Ventures and Viewpoint Ventures — that is serious about building technology to expand access to quality healthcare. We offer remote work, sabbaticals, company retreats, and other generous benefits that earned us recognition as one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces of 2025

Healthcare is overdue for innovation. Let’s redefine what its future looks like — together.

Summary

Spark is hiring a VP of Operations to own operational excellence and strategic execution across the company. We're looking for a proven leader who can scale systems, processes, and teams to support Spark's next phase of growth while maintaining the speed and scrappiness that got us here. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical foundation, deep experience driving cross-functional initiatives, and a track record of building the operational infrastructure that high-growth companies need to thrive.

This role reports directly to the COO and will work closely with leaders across Sales, Finance, Product, and Customer Success to identify opportunities, eliminate friction, and ensure the business runs with precision.

Please be advised that, due to business needs, preference will be given to candidates based in the New York City or Denver areas.

What You'll Do
  • Own the strategic vision for how Spark operates: defining priorities, building the roadmap, and driving execution across key business functions.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from ideation through implementation, ensuring alignment and accountability at every step.
  • Build and maintain rigorous operational cadences: business reviews, planning cycles, KPI tracking, and reporting frameworks that keep the leadership team informed and moving.
  • Analyze business performance data to surface trends, identify bottlenecks, and translate insights into concrete action.
  • Build financial models and business cases to support strategic investments and resource allocation decisions.
  • Design and optimize core operational processes to improve efficiency and scalability as Spark grows.
  • Partner with Product to identify automation opportunities and reduce reliance on manual workflows.
  • Support change management efforts related to new systems, tools, and organizational structures.
  • Act as a thought partner to the COO and broader leadership team on the company's most critical strategic questions.
What We're Looking For
  • 8–15+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, management consulting, or a combination, with meaningful time in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort building financial models, interpreting data, and making evidence-based recommendations.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to lead through influence across functions you don't directly own.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complexity and present clearly to executives and external stakeholders.
  • Structured thinker who can zoom out to set strategy and zoom in to get things done.
  • High ownership mentality; you don't wait to be told what needs fixing.
Nice To Haves
  • You've operated in a regulated or seasonal business environment.
  • You have experience in healthcare, insurance, or a similarly complex industry.
  • You've built or scaled operations at an early- to mid-stage startup
