Job Description

THE ROLE

The Vice President, Podcast Sales will be responsible for building and leading A+E Global Media’s podcast advertising and sponsorship business, developing a scalable commercial strategy that drives revenue across A+E’s growing podcast portfolio. This leader will establish the go-to-market strategy, develop advertiser and agency relationships, create compelling podcast advertising and sponsorship solutions, and work closely with the broader Media Solutions sales organization to bring podcast opportunities to market. The role will oversee the full commercial lifecycle—from packaging, pricing, and business development through revenue management, advertiser partnerships, and campaign performance. Success requires an entrepreneurial sales leader with deep knowledge of the podcast and digital audio marketplace who can build a business, cultivate senior client relationships, and translate A+E’s brands, talent, content, and audiences into differentiated advertising opportunities.

Build the Podcast Sales Business

  • Develop and execute the commercial and go-to-market strategy for A+E Global Media’s podcast portfolio.
  • Establish revenue goals, business plans, pricing, inventory strategy, and scalable sales processes in partnership with Sales Leadership and Revenue Management.
  • Develop sellable podcast products including host-read endorsements, sponsorships, branded content, dynamic ad inventory, and integrated partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to combine podcasts with A+E’s broader digital, social, video, branded content, and live event offerings.
  • Help evaluate new podcast opportunities through a commercial lens, identifying advertiser demand, category opportunities, and revenue potential.

Drive Revenue Growth

  • Build a sustainable pipeline of podcast advertising and sponsorship opportunities across brands and agencies.
  • Personally lead high-value and strategic opportunities while enabling the broader Media Solutions sales organization to sell podcast solutions.
  • Develop relationships with agency audio teams, investment leads, brand marketers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Create multi-show, cross-platform, and longer-term partnerships that extend beyond individual podcast campaigns.
  • Own revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and achievement of annual podcast revenue goals.

Develop Innovative Client Solutions

  • Translate advertiser objectives into customized podcast solutions leveraging hosts, talent, content, audiences, and A+E intellectual property.
  • Partner with Marketing, Research, Client Solutions, Content, Production, and other teams to develop differentiated sponsorship and branded-content opportunities.
  • Establish clear positioning and sales materials that articulate A+E’s value proposition within the podcast marketplace.
  • Stay ahead of trends across podcast advertising, video podcasts, creator marketing, measurement, programmatic audio, and emerging platforms.

Build a Scalable Commercial Operation

  • Partner with Podcast Revenue Operations to manage inventory, forecasting, campaign delivery, yield, and programmatic monetization.
  • Establish CRM discipline, pipeline reporting, pricing standards, and commercial KPIs.
  • Ensure strong coordination across Sales, Content, Ad Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.
  • Develop processes that provide advertisers with a seamless experience from pitch through campaign delivery and reporting.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a specialized podcast sales organization as the business grows.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of experience in podcast, digital audio, media sales, sponsorships, brand partnerships, or related advertising businesses.
  • Proven success generating significant advertising and sponsorship revenue within podcasting, digital audio, or creator-led media.
  • Deep understanding of podcast monetization, including host-read advertising, sponsorships, branded content, dynamic ad insertion, and programmatic advertising.
  • Current relationships with agencies, audio investment teams, brand marketers, and senior advertising decision-makers.
  • At least 5 years developing and selling integrated programs across audio, digital, social, video, branded content, and/or experiential platforms.
  • Strong understanding of podcast inventory, pricing, measurement, audience metrics, and marketplace dynamics.

  • Builds podcasting into a meaningful and sustainable revenue stream.
  • Develops strong relationships with leading advertisers, agencies, and audio decision-makers.
  • Creates innovative podcast solutions leveraging A+E’s brands, content, talent, and broader media capabilities.
  • Successfully integrates podcast opportunities into A+E’s broader Media Solutions sales organization.
  • Builds the commercial capabilities and team required to scale the podcast business over time.

This role requires 3 days a week in our NYC offices.

CompensationAnnual Pay Range: $230,769 - $270,000Annual Incentive Target: 25.00%


 

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,
