About Bloom Equity Partners

Bloom Equity Partners is a leading technology-focused private equity firm headquartered in NYC, currently deploying capital out of Bloom Equity Partners Fund I. We specialize in unlocking growth in lower-middle market enterprise software and business services companies through control investments, further developing already-great businesses into market leaders.

Led by a team of technology-focused investors and industry operators, Bloom injects capital, operational resources, and playbooks into recession-resistant businesses to rapidly unlock transformational growth and deliver superior risk-adjusted returns to our investment partners and management teams.

About the Role

Title and scope will be calibrated to experience level. We are looking for the right investor and leader, not just the right resume.

This role sits at the center of Bloom’s investment engine-leading deals from origination through execution and driving value creation within our portfolio companies.

Leveraging deep private equity investing and operational experience, the VP/Principal will manage and drive Bloom’s efforts across the full investment lifecycle: thesis generation, deal sourcing, transaction execution, debt and equity capital raising, portfolio management, and exit. The VP/Principal will expand the firm’s reach by building trust-based relationships with key parties-management teams, investment bankers, advisors, limited partners, and portfolio company executives-while serving as a trusted partner to the senior leaders of the firm.

This is a high-ownership role for a proven investor who is ready to lead deals, shape strategy, and build an enduring platform in enterprise software investing.

Responsibilities

  • Source enterprise software and business services buyout opportunities through proprietary research, intermediary relationships, and direct outreach to founders and CEOs

  • Help shape investment team culture, recruiting strategy and analyst/associate development programs

  • Lead thematic research in relevant technology sub-segments to develop conviction around investment themes and target profiles

  • Set up and lead quantitative and qualitative due diligence on prospective investments, coordinating across internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, commercial, technical)

  • Lead and oversee key functions of a transaction including financial modeling, investment committee memoranda, investor presentations, due diligence frameworks, and lender presentations

  • Manage relationships with key investment stakeholders—management teams, advisors, co-investors, and financing partners-and develop a deep sector-specific network

  • Lead negotiations of key transaction documentation (purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, management incentive plans, credit agreements) with support from internal and external counsel

  • Contribute to structuring and raising debt financing in partnership with lenders and capital markets advisors

  • Actively engage with the boards of portfolio companies with responsibility for post-closing value creation workstreams, strategic initiatives, and board materials

  • Monitor performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments; prepare and present deal information by stage to the investment committee

  • Lead and mentor associates and analysts in developing financial models, managing diligence processes, and advancing professionally

  • Support fundraising and LP relations by building investor relationships, preparing fund reporting, and participating in LP meetings and co-investment processes

  • Contribute to Bloom’s client-related activities, firm-building initiatives, and internal strategic planning

Ideal Candidate

  • 6–10 years of progressive private equity investment experience, ideally preceded by 2–3 years in investment banking or management consulting

  • Proven track record of leading enterprise software/business services buyouts in the lower-middle market

  • Superior business acumen and judgment to analyze investment opportunities, market dynamics, and company financials within the technology sector

  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead deal processes from origination through close

  • Strong relationships with intermediaries, investment bankers, operators, and advisors in the enterprise software ecosystem

  • Ability to flex both upwards and downwards - coordinating the investment process at a senior level while maintaining the highest quality of analytical execution

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the presence to engage credibly with founders, C-suite executives, board members, and limited partners

  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a small, high-autonomy team environment

  • MBA from a top-tier university preferred

Skills & Characteristics

  • Track record of multiple successful exits or significant value creation milestones

  • Ability to shape firm strategy and investment thesis evolution

  • Outstanding financial modeling and analytical capabilities

  • Strong understanding of accounting, capital structures, and debt financing

  • Constantly looking ahead; anticipating, guiding, and communicating proactively

  • Self-initiating in a manner aligned with Bloom’s strategy and culture

  • Inspires and engages internal and external teams

  • Curious, creative, and ambitious—passionate about investing in technology businesses

  • Excels at building internal and external alignment on ideas, actions, and recommendations

  • Carries and conveys a healthy sense of urgency

What We Offer

Bloom Equity Partners retains the culture, pace, and agility of a startup while building an institutional-quality investment platform. We are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent by offering a workplace where results are recognized and rewarded.

  • Partner-track role with meaningful carried interest participation and a clear pathway to senior leadership

  • Direct partnership with experienced investors and operators who have built and scaled technology businesses

  • High-impact, high-autonomy environment where you will lead deals and shape portfolio company outcomes from day one

  • Exposure to every dimension of the firm-investing, portfolio operations, fundraising, and strategic planning

  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, performance bonus, and carried interest

  • Mentorship and professional development within a collaborative, intellectually rigorous team
Salary - $100,000-$200,000 + additional variable compensation depending on experience.
