Purpose:

Athene is seeking a Vice President, Relationship Manager to drive growth within our Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) distribution channel by developing strategic relationships, expanding advisor engagement, and delivering industry-leading retirement income solutions. This role partners closely with Division Sales leadership to execute territory strategies that accelerate sales growth while strengthening Athene's market presence.


Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan that drives sales growth, expands advisor relationships, and achieves business objectives across the IMO channel.

  • Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with Independent Marketing Organizations, financial advisors, and key distribution partners while identifying new business opportunities.

  • Deliver impactful product education, sales training, seminars, and consultative solutions that position Athene's Fixed Indexed Annuity (FIA) and Registered Indexed Linked Annuity (RILA) products for success.

  • Partner closely with Internal Wholesalers and cross-functional teams to execute territory strategies, optimize resource deployment, and provide exceptional advisor support.

  • Manage territory performance, business development initiatives, travel, and expense budgets while maintaining compliance with FINRA, SEC, Department of Insurance, and Athene policies.

  • Leverage market insights, data, digital tools, and AI-enabled resources to identify opportunities, strengthen advisor engagement, improve sales effectiveness, and continuously enhance the customer experience.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience wholesaling Fixed Indexed Annuities and/or Registered Index-Linked Annuities within Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) or Independent Broker Dealer (IBD) distribution channels, or relevant professional experience, preferred.

  • Proven track record of growing a sales territory, developing strategic advisor relationships, achieving sales goals, and influencing business outcomes through consultative selling and business development.

  • Strong knowledge of the annuity marketplace, territory management, advisor practices, and the financial services industry with demonstrated presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to think strategically, adapt quickly in a dynamic environment, leverage AI and technology appropriately to improve productivity, and demonstrate innovation, critical thinking, and a bias for action.

  • Active FINRA Series 6 and Life & Health licenses required. FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses preferred. RICP designation required within 12 months of employment.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • Travel: Approximately 75% travel required.


$62,412.80 - $93,619.20 USD Annual


Annual Salary for this role is market competitive.  Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.  Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
