Who are we hiring? 

The Vice President, Technology Procurement, will drive enterprise-wide technology sourcing strategy across Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere. Reporting directly to the SVP/Head of Procurement, this executive will lead and develop a high-performing technology procurement team while serving as a strategic partner to C-suite and senior business leaders, shaping how the organization invests in, acquires, and derives value from its technology ecosystem. This role goes far beyond traditional procurement. The VP will architect and execute a forward-looking technology sourcing vision that aligns with MSG's business objectives optimizing our vendor portfolio, cultivating strategic supplier partnerships, and unlocking value that extends well beyond cost efficiency.  Success in this role demands the ability to balance fiscal stewardship with innovation enablement, delivering measurable business outcomes while elevating supplier performance, mitigating risk, and maintaining exceptional stakeholder satisfaction across the organization.  

What will you do? 

Strategic Technology Sourcing & Vision 

  • Define and execute a comprehensive, multi-year technology procurement strategy aligned with enterprise business priorities across Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere. 
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter authority on technology markets, vendor landscapes, emerging solutions, and sourcing best practices. 
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to consolidate spend, rationalize the vendor portfolio, and drive enterprise-wide synergies. 

Executive Stakeholder Partnership 

  • Operate as a trusted strategic advisor to CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, and senior business leaders on technology investment decisions. 
  • Influence enterprise technology roadmaps by bringing market intelligence, commercial insight, and procurement expertise to strategic planning conversations. 
  • Translate business needs into sourcing strategies that balance speed, innovation, risk, and total cost of ownership. 

Vendor & Supplier Management 

  • Architect and govern a best-in-class strategic supplier management program for critical technology partners. 
  • Lead high-value, complex negotiations for enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, telecommunications, managed services, and professional services engagements. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through structured scorecards, executive business reviews, and accountability frameworks. 

Team Leadership & Organizational Development 

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing technology procurement team, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, commercial excellence, and continuous development. 
  • Establish clear career pathways and professional growth opportunities to attract and retain top procurement talent. 
  • Champion change management and elevate the procurement function's reputation and influence across the enterprise. 
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

Financial Stewardship & Value Creation 

  • Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation targets annually.
  • Develop and manage technology procurement budgets, forecasts, and spend analytics to provide leadership with actionable financial insights.
  • Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to corporate governance, compliance, and risk management standards. 

Process Excellence & Innovation 

  • Drive procurement process optimization through automation, digitization, and adoption of leading procurement technologies.
  • Establish and refine policies, playbooks, and frameworks that enable speed, consistency, and scalability.
  • Benchmark procurement performance against industry standards and continuously raise the bar. 

What do you need to succeed? 

  • 12+ years of progressive procurement experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on technology/IT sourcing at an enterprise scale. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, including building and developing high-performing teams. 
  • Deep expertise in negotiating complex technology agreements (enterprise software, cloud/IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, telecom, managed services, professional services, hardware). 
  • Demonstrated success partnering with C-suite executives and influencing enterprise technology strategy. 
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering significant, measurable savings and value creation. 
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred 
  • Experience in media, entertainment, retail, sports, or hospitality industries. 
  • Familiarity with procurement technologies (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, Ivalua, or similar platforms). 
  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and enterprise architecture principles. 
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, PMP) a plus. 
  • Executive presence with the ability to command credibility at the highest levels of the organization. 
  • Strategic mindset balanced with operational rigor and a bias for action. 
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills able to translate complex commercial concepts for diverse audiences. 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building, transforming, and elevating procurement's impact. 
  • Collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic, and high-profile environments.

Pay Range
$225,000$275,000 USD
