Overview

We are seeking a Wholesale Assistant to join our Wholesale team, reporting to the Director of Wholesale. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the Wholesale business and is responsible for supporting sales activities, managing order entry and processing, maintaining customer records, and providing exceptional service to our wholesale accounts. 


This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including our production and logistics teams to ensure accurate order management and timely fulfillment. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities are critical to ensure seamless execution of wholesale orders and client support. This position is primarily based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office and follows a hybrid schedule, dependent on role and business needs.

Essential Functions*:

About the role

  • Assist with sales activities, including building and maintaining relationships with wholesale clients
  • Manage the processing of wholesale orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure orders are fulfilled according to client specifications
  • Provide excellent customer service to our wholesale clients, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and coordinating stock replenishment
  • Attend seasonal line reviews and product meetings to stay informed on assortment strategy, product development updates, and wholesale merchandising direction
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to obtain product information, marketing assets, and seasonal campaign materials for use by the Wholesale team and wholesale partners.
  • Support seasonal market preparation by coordinating samples, preparing selling tools and line sheets, and ensuring all product information and materials are organized for buyer appointments

What we are looking for

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a wholesale or sales support role preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, takes initiative when needed
  • Extremely detail oriented and diligent with strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to interact with professionalism across all levels of the organization.
  • High levels of accountability and reliability, with a proven ability to take initiative and follow through on commitments
  • Experience contributing to team-based goals and achieving results through collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the apparel and fashion industry is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order processing


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, standing, bending and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to access and navigate various departments at the organization's facilities.

Pay Transparency & Disclaimer

$26 - $30 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.


 Compensation and benefits may vary based on role, location, and eligibility. J.McLaughlin reserves the right to modify compensation and benefit programs at any time, in accordance with applicable laws.
