As a Workday Adaptive Planning Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for successful Adaptive Planning implementations with Workday customers.  You will act as the face of the project, tasked with successfully leading Adaptive Planning implementations from beginning to end with our customers.  You'll communicate and address any budget or resourcing constraints, while keeping in mind our customer's satisfaction, and the project's success and profitability. This individual is a strong leader, manager, and mentor, and thrives on customer, company, and team accomplishment.  

You will be directly responsible for overseeing all stages of the Adaptive Insights project and project delivery. The responsibilities include assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability, developing, and maintaining a budget and schedule to ensure timely completion of project, maintaining standard project management documentation and metrics with limited direction, working directly with internal and external client counterparts, other project leads, and ongoing operations to deliver successful implementation, and managing the scope of the project. The Workday Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for promoting team engagement and building and maintaining a successful relationship with the client. 

You are expected to: 

  • Become an expert in Kainos’ Adaptive Planning Implementation Methodology and leverage it on all engagements. 

  • Become certified in Workday Project Management. 

  • Become certified in Workday Adaptive Planning. 

  • Manage the implementation of up to 12 simultaneous projects. 

  • Demonstrate competency in Adaptive Planning, and some knowledge of the Workday product suite - HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials. 

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the Professional Service consultants working on your implementations. 

  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed. 

  • Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns appropriately, while working with the client project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes 

  • Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW. 

  • Present client with change orders in the event they're asking Kainos to perform tasks that are outside the scope of the SOW. 

  • Work with Workday Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed to checkpoints. 

  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings. 

  • Ensure the client takes advantage of Adaptive Planning best practices. 

  • Identify opportunities to position other service offerings. 

  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation and identify opportunities to position other service offerings. 

  • Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to post-go-live support. 

  • Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW. 

 

Minimum (essential) requirements 

  • Organizational and Project Management Expertise: 3+ years’ experience project managing HCM, payroll or financial implementations within mid to large Enterprise clients. Excellent organization, time management, business development and communication skills 

  • Financial Planning Expertise: Knowledge of ERP, specifically HCM, Finance, and Payroll A practitioner background in HR, Finance, or Payroll is a plus.  

  • Communication Skills: Passion for exceptional customer service and customer collaboration. Demonstrates effective and active listening skills. 

  • Consulting Skills:  Experience either as an internal Workday consultant or with a consulting/software company is preferred  

  • Other:  

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business   

  • Ability to travel up to 25%-45% at client request or Kainos request. 

Desirable:  

  • Previous Workday or Adaptive Planning experience  

  • Implementations for medium or large enterprise organizations with a Workday partner  

  • Adaptive Planning certification 

  • Workday Project Management certification 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 

  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
