About the Team

OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. Achieving this goal requires more than cutting-edge research—it also demands deep, durable engagement with policymakers, institutions, industry leaders, and communities shaping the future of AI around the world.

The Global Affairs team leads this engagement globally, building trusted relationships with governments, regulators, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and strategic partners. By bringing external perspectives into OpenAI—and helping communicate OpenAI’s priorities outward—we support thoughtful governance frameworks, responsible standards, and public understanding of AI technologies.

We work closely across research, product, legal, communications, partnerships, and go-to-market teams to anticipate emerging issues, shape proactive engagement strategies, and advance OpenAI’s mission internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Development & Management
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with workforce organizations and strategic partners.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Global Affairs Certifications partnerships.

  • Support partnership design, implementation, renewals, and expansion opportunities.

  • Coordinate with partners to establish goals, success metrics, and reporting structures.

Program Strategy & Execution
  • Support the launch and execution of workforce initiatives focused on AI literacy, upskilling, and economic opportunity.

  • Collaborate with Academy, Certifications, GTM, and Product teams to align programs and resources.

  • Develop playbooks and implementation guidance for workforce partners.

  • Monitor outcomes and synthesize learnings to inform future programming.

External Engagement
  • Represent OpenAI at conferences, workshops, and partner meetings.

  • Facilitate trainings, roundtables, and stakeholder discussions.

  • Help identify emerging workforce trends and opportunities for impact.

  • Contribute to briefing materials, presentations, and thought leadership content.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Experience managing partnerships and programs within workforce development, education, nonprofit, or public-sector environments.

  • Strong relationship-management and stakeholder-engagement skills.

  • Experience executing multi-stakeholder initiatives from concept through implementation.

  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.

  • Passion for expanding access to opportunity through technology and education.

  • Interest in AI literacy, workforce transformation, and the future of work.

  • Experience working with workforce boards, community colleges, labor organizations, or economic development entities.

  • Familiarity with credentialing, certifications, or adult learning programs.

  • Experience navigating public-private partnerships.

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
