For some people, part of the draw of working at a large, corporate company is the international reach. As you climb the corporate ladder, opportunities to work in remote, exotic locations start to appear. Who doesn’t dream about a promotion to the Rome office? How sexy does that sound?
As the world is growing smaller and more interconnected, and startups of all sizes are spreading their tentacles around the globe, the international office is no longer the sole province of massive multinational corporations.
We did a little digging and found an astonishing number of big and small NYC tech startups that have significant international operations. Saavn is a streaming music service that caters to India, serving up Bollywood’s latest and hottest hits. So, I guess it should come as more of a surprise that their headquarters are in New York, and less that they have an office in Mumbai.
