4 local startups raise $468M in one day

On Tuesday, four local tech startups raised a total of $468 million, with each round coming in at more than $60 million. The investments spanned a number of different industries, including telehealth and fintech, and one of the companies is just under 10 months old. [Built In NYC]

Dirty Lemon opens cashierless store in Tribeca

Beverage brand Dirty Lemon just opened a brick-and-mortar store with one catch: The store has no cashiers. Instead of dealing with a traditional checkout experience, customers simply take what they want and tell the company what they grabbed via text. From there, the company charges the user’s credit card on file or asks new users to open accounts. This is all in line with Dirty Lemon’s checkout-less business, which users text orders instead of requiring the customer to visit a site to purchase goods. [NZ Herald]

Wachsman plans to open new office in Asia

Blockchain professional services firm Wachsman announced it will be expanding its global presence to Singapore. It’s currently headquartered in New York and has an office in Dublin. By the end of 2019, it plans to make 20 hires in the new office. This news comes just months after announcing their plans to grow the NYC operation and add 50 hires to its Dublin office by the end of 2020. [Payment Week]

Trade launches new subscription experience

Trade, a subscription box service that introduces coffee lovers to ethically sourced coffee, announced a new subscription experience called “The Hookup.” In four steps, users can find their “true love.” After setting up a “dating” profile that captures their taste preferences, users try out a series of different matches. From there, they add feedback to their profiles, allowing the AI-powered service to generate better suggestions as they go. [Press release]

Shapeways gears up for the holiday season

Shapeways, a 3D printing manufacturing company, made several announcements that will give businesses a boost during the upcoming holiday season. First, the company is now integrated with e-commerce platform Shopify, which will help provide on-demand order fulfillment. Shapeways also announced a “Holiday Readiness Guide” and “Holiday Business Bundle” that will both explain the intricacies of 3D printing. [VentureBeat]

Silicon Valley’s AlphaFlow opens NY office 

Investment platform AlphaFlow is making its way to NYC. The company is launching a local office that will be led by new executive hire Stephan Leccese, vice president of partnerships and servicing. John Woodruff will join Leccese as vice president of investments. The office is located at 135 Madison Ave in Midtown. [Press release]
