Clay has secured $40 million in financing at a $1.25 billion valuation, with returning investor Meritech leading the pre-emptive Series B funding round expansion.

Clay’s platform is specifically designed to support growth teams. Its broad range of integrations and AI-powered research agents allows teams to source data from across their tech stack so they can build workflows to fuel customer acquisition and retention.

The company has more than 5,000 customers, including teams from leading enterprises like OpenAI and Canva. According to Clay, it’s seen its revenue tick up significantly since 2022 and this latest funding will help maintain that momentum.

The news comes on the heels of Clay’s acquisition of Avenue, a workflow automation tool that’s expected to help Clay customers effectively act on intent signals.
