GameChanger, the youth sports technology platform owned by DICK’s Sporting Goods, has named David Shapiro senior vice president of sales and business development.

In his new role, Shapiro will lead GameChanger’s B2B sales and partnership strategy; oversee business development initiatives; manage clinics and conventions; and guide lead generation and relationship building across the youth sports ecosystem.

According to the company announcement, Shapiro joins GameChanger from Pixellot, where he served as president for North America, leading operations across the United States and Canada. Prior to that, he served in leadership at Steel Sports and spent more than 20 years with the Positive Coaching Alliance, including serving on PCA’s National Board of Directors.

GameChanger said Shapiro’s professional background is complemented by hands-on experience in youth sports, having coached youth and high school baseball and remaining actively involved as a league board member and as a parent of student-athletes.

“David brings a rare combination of deep youth sports experience and proven commercial leadership. As we continue to grow GameChanger and increase the value that we provide to our users, David’s leadership will help us better support the organizations and families who rely on us every day,” Sameer Ahuja of GameChanger snd DICK’S Sporting Goods said in a statement.

Shapiro is the fourth executive to join GameChanger’s leadership team in recent months, following the appointments of Cynthia Kleinbaum, Brandon Rhodes and Briana Larkin.
