Insurance provider New York Life announced the appointment of its new chief AI officer in August. Zhen Zhao joins the company from his previous role at Chubb, where he served as SVP, global head of AI Platform.
New York Life provides life insurance, disability income insurance, retirement income, investments and long-term care insurance. In his new capacity, Zhao will spearhead AI strategy, platforms and execution to develop and deliver advanced AI and data science solutions such as agentic AI and machine learning capabilities.
“AI presents new opportunities to deliver more seamless experiences and greater value for the clients, agents and advisors who rely on New York Life,” Deepa Soni, New York Life’s EVP and CIO, said in a statement. “Zhen’s leadership will be essential as we continue to apply AI responsibly and thoughtfully — enhancing human connection, improving how we work and helping our agents and advisors better serve clients for the long term.”
