Zocdoc, a healthcare infrastructure provider helping patients access care, closed its acquisition of Sohar Health, a healthtech platform that aims to simplify insurance workflows, on October 2. The acquisition builds on an existing relationship between the two companies and will help Zocdoc expand capabilities that streamline care for patients and providers.
Sohar Health’s solution automates insurance benefits eligibility checks to make it easier to find and verify patients’ coverage. Rather than requiring patients to input detailed insurance information, Sohar’s platform can find coverage using a patient’s name and date of birth. It can then verify their benefits and determine whether a provider is in-network. Zocdoc has worked with Sohar as its insurance technology partner since 2025.
“As we build the healthcare access infrastructure that powers care everywhere patients search, we are investing deeply in making the experience of finding and booking care more seamless for more patients at scale,” Dr. Oliver Kharraz, Zocdoc’s founder and CEO, said in a statement. “We know the Sohar technology and team well, and we share a desire to tackle complex, systemic problems to remove the barriers that stand between patients and their care. We are confident that bringing Sohar’s platform and expertise into Zocdoc will make insurance easier to navigate for patients and their providers when it matters most: at the moment of booking.”
