Own Augustus’s US corporate legal function, including governance, financings, equity plans, cap table management, entity structure, regulatory filings, M&A, strategic investments, partnerships, and legal process systems. The role partners with founders, Finance, People, outside counsel, and senior legal leadership while operating independently in a rapidly growing fintech banking startup.

Owns customer due diligence from onboarding through periodic and event-driven reviews. Performs CIP, CDD, EDD, beneficial ownership analysis, risk rating, and high-risk case preparation. Improves automated review-agent prompts and partners with Engineering and Product to streamline compliant onboarding. Handles complex ownership structures, FBO relationships, exceptions, and high-risk customers while documenting defensible decisions.

Own US commercial and product legal work for a fintech bank, advising on product development, structuring, risk, disclosures, and regulatory requirements. Lead negotiations with enterprise clients, partners, and vendors; manage contracting templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and approvals; and review marketing and sales materials for compliance. Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance to build scalable legal systems that accelerate deal execution.
