Support communications team by crafting messaging on military and veterans issues, shadow staff and spokespeople during media appearances, and learn crisis communications protocols. Gain hands-on experience in media relations and public messaging specific to veterans policy and advocacy.

Lead individual giving strategy and donor relations to grow annual and major gift revenue. Manage moves management, prospect research, cultivation, stewardship, direct response and events; oversee junior staff and support senior leadership solicitations.

Support engagement for the Community of Veterans by conducting outreach, promoting sign-ups, drafting social media and blog posts, scheduling and executing live chats/webinars, monitoring member trends, reporting data, and helping create a crisis prevention and response system.

Support IAVA's Digital Engagement team by building webpages and graphics on Drupal, creating content for web, email and social, improving UX/UI, using Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and leveraging Google Analytics and user testing tools.

Provide one-on-one case management and referrals for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and families. Conduct needs and benefits assessments, crisis intervention, follow-up, and maintain case records in Salesforce. Prepare reports, monitor program deliverables, and participate in trainings and meetings to ensure client needs are met.

Serve as IAVA's first CFO, leading financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, grants and business development, audits, and cash/capital planning. Oversee finance and operations team, risk management, contracts, procurement, office expansion, and IT vendor coordination. Report to CEO and partner with Board Finance Committee to support organizational growth and operational goals.

Lead IAVA's Engagement Division to develop and execute external communications, brand and marketing strategy, digital engagement, membership/supporter outreach, and performance metrics. Manage Communications, Digital Engagement and Marketing teams; align messaging with organizational vision; foster innovative campaigns to raise awareness, drive engagement, and support retention.

Support finance, HR, IT integration, vendor and office management at IAVA's NY headquarters. Assist with contribution reconciliation, staff development events, member communications, and general operations processes while reporting to the Finance and Operations Director.

Support and maintain IAVA's Salesforce CRM: triage user requests, enforce database protocols, train staff, ensure data quality and security, build reports and dashboards, and manage data migrations and integrations.

Support development and execution of veteran-focused programs; assist at membership events; monitor veteran needs; perform research and analysis using Salesforce and Google; create digital content (photo, video, social media); and help manage rewards distribution for IAVA's Rucksack. Reports to the Program Director and gains exposure to corporate and nonprofit partners.

Lead and unify IAVA's fundraising and strategic partnerships into a single resource-generating team. Build and mentor development staff, expand individual, corporate, foundation, and online giving, oversee major events, strengthen donor stewardship, improve tracking and proposal systems, and partner with CEO and Board to increase revenue (initial target $8.5M).

Support the Marketing Director by cataloging and consolidating IAVA communications, conducting market research to identify audience channels, mapping marketing best practices, and gaining project management experience within a small team.

Provide high-level administrative support to the Chief of Staff: manage calendar, travel, correspondence, contacts, deadlines, and logistics; protect executive time; support events and high-level guests; complete expense reports and other administrative duties.

Support and maintain IAVA's Salesforce CRM: ensure data integrity and security, create and enforce usage protocols, build database solutions and integrations (e.g., Conga, Geopointe), train staff and volunteers, perform basic web form and template coding, and collaborate with content creators to improve online member experiences.

Support fundraising efforts across individual giving and foundations by researching prospects, assisting with proposals/reports/donor communications, helping plan fundraising events, and performing development administrative tasks while learning CRM and fundraising processes.
