The Quantitative Research Team at Lazard Asset Management applied advanced statistical and computational techniques to address real-world investment challenges. We combine cutting-edge quantitative methods with deep market insights to drive better investment outcomes for clients.
Our hands-on, 10-week internship is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in quantitative research. You will work directly with the investment professionals on real investment problems where your contributions have measurable impact from day one. You'll be paired with a dedicated mentor invested in your growth, while gaining direct access to industry veterans and thought leaders who bring decades of market experience to share. As part of a close-knit team embedded within a global organization, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds: the collegiality and hands-on exposure of a small group, back by the resources and reach of a world-class firm. It's an environment built to sharpen the technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills that form the foundation of lasting career in finance or quantitative research.
Eligibility Criteria
- This program is open to rising undergraduate juniors only. You must be graduating in 2029!
- Ability to start an internship June 7, 2027, and end August 13, 2027
- Ability to be in NYC for the duration of the internship
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
We’ll trust you to:
- Develop and enhance quantitative models to support investment decisions.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover actionable insights.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, researchers, and developers to solve complex investment problems.
- Present findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.
You'll need to have:
- Highly motivated students with strong quantitative and analytical skills who are excited to apply their expertise to finance.
- Familiarity with Machine Learning algorithms and NLP techniques.
- Undergraduate students majoring in mathematics, statistics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, economics, or related fields.
- Excellent logical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with programming, especially in Python, for data processing and analysis.
- Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
- Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn.
- Passion for quantitative research and financial markets.
- Familiarity or experience with generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar)

Compensation: Pro-rated base annual salary of $90,000
