American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is a leading B2B solutions provider for businesses and corporations of all sizes. The Marketing & Brand Strategy team is responsible for producing and informing compelling, insight-driven marketing that cohesively showcases the holistic value of American Express to business customers. We do this by deepening B2B brand engagement, enabling exceptional marketing, and delivering breakthrough go-to-market strategies.

The Analyst, B2B Content Development will support the creation and execution of American Express’ commercial storytelling assets across channels for a growing pipeline of launches, product refreshes, and enterprise priorities.   

As part of the broader Brand & Demand Strategy team, this role is actively involved in the end-to-end content development process — supporting steps that include intake and agency briefing, production, approvals, and delivery. Working across Marketing, Product, Legal, Compliance, and external agencies, this individual will help bring product solutions to life through smart, engaging storytelling. This includes  assets developed for our mid-funnel commercial content platform -- American Express Business Intel,  which can include longform articles, explainer graphics and videos, as well as ancillary items to support amplification, such as caption copy and creative for paid media placements and organic social posts. 

This is an opportunity to build foundational skills in B2B content marketing, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

Content Intake, Planning & Coordination 

  • Support execution of the content development process from intake through final delivery  
  • Gather inputs, clarify objectives, and help organize requests from a variety of cross-functional stakeholders  
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and key deliverables to ensure projects stay on schedule and flag any delays or blockers 
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, workflows, and content trackers  

Briefing & Creative Development 

  • Partner with key stakeholders to gather inputs and shape clear, well-structured  briefs that guide creative agency partners  
  • Help synthesize stakeholder input and support delivery of clear, actionable feedback to agencies  

Content Development & Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Brand, Legal, Compliance, and Digital Channel owners throughout development and delivery process 
  • Help coordinate across stakeholders to ensure alignment and seamless execution  
  • Support communication and workflow between internal teams and external agencies  

Content Strategy & Storytelling Support 

  • Assist in executing B2B branded content strategies with the development of product-focused content that translates complex product information into engaging, audience-relevant narratives  
  • Research and apply inspiration and best practices from internal teams (e.g., Consumer Marketing, SEO/AEO experts) and the external landscape to enhance content quality and discoverability  

Operational Excellence & Innovation 

  • Help manage and maintain editorial calendars, content pipelines, and project trackers  
  • Maintain team process controls and ensure timely delivery of control testing in coordination with control management and compliance 
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and team efficiency  
  • Support adoption of AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and enhance content development  

Performance Tracking & Insights 

  • Review content performance reporting to identify insights and opportunities to optimize future content  

Budget & Administrative Support 

  • Support budget tracking and coordination with agencies and vendors  
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, content, editorial, or related field  
  • Great organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize information  
  • Proactive mindset and ability to collaborate and learn in a fast-paced environment  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office   

Additional Helpful Qualifications 

  • Exposure to content creation, editorial, UX design, organic and AI-driven search strategy, and/or other digital marketing functions  
  • Curiosity about B2B storytelling, audience engagement, and content trends  
  • Interest in emerging tools and technologies, including AI
