Description

Our Day Habilitation program located in Slingerlands, NY currently has a full-time, 40-hour Assistant Program Director position available. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm* (*includes a daily 30-minute unpaid lunch break), with flexibility based on program needs.  The rate of pay is $25.00/hour + longevity, and this is an hourly, non-exempt position.  The Assistant Program Director – Day Hab (APD) is responsible for training, educating and supporting staff. The APD is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Krumkill Day Hab so the people we support who attend are safe and supported at the program and in the community.

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • A valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards.  A strong driving history preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individual and agency information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • At least 1-year supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead staff.
  • Demonstrate effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be empathetic, compassionate, patient and reliable.
  • Must have sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate effectively with people supported and team members and to complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, which include activities such as lifting and/or moving items up to 50 pounds, twisting/bending, positioning self as needed to complete tasks, and movement within the classroom and/or throughout the building for extended periods of time.
