The Associate – Digital Product Operations supports the successful adoption and ongoing operation of Hyperdrive, American Express's enterprise platform for real-time data processing. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and internal application teams, this role helps guide customers through the onboarding process while contributing to the continued evolution of the platform. 

This position is ideal for an early-career professional who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and working with people across diverse technical and business disciplines. The successful candidate is organized, intellectually curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. They enjoy understanding how complex systems work, can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are willing to explore technical tools and data to better understand customer needs and operational outcomes. 

As part of the Product organization, this role provides hands-on experience in enterprise product management, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and the delivery of modern data products that enable real-time business capabilities across American Express. 

Responsibilities
  • Support the onboarding of internal application teams onto Hyperdrive by coordinating activities across Product, Engineering, and customer teams.  

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for onboarding customers, helping answer questions, facilitate communication, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.  

  • Track onboarding progress, identify risks or blockers, and partner with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain momentum.  

  • Develop a working understanding of Hyperdrive's enterprise data management and real-time data processing capabilities in order toeffectively support customers and internal partners.  

  • Use operational metrics, documentation, and technical tools to investigate onboarding issues, monitor customer progress, and identifyopportunities for process improvement.  

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical implementation details and help translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance for customers.  

  • Assist in documenting onboarding processes, product guidance, operational procedures, and customer-facing materials.  

  • Gather customer feedback and operational insights to help identify product enhancements and improve the overall onboarding experience.  

  • Support product planning, backlog refinement, testing activities, release readiness, and other product operations initiatives as needed.  

  • Continuously build knowledge of enterprise data management, real-time data processing, and modern product management practices while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. We welcome candidates of various academic backgrounds, including social and behavioral sciences, physical sciences, business, engineering, and computer science, among others.  

  • 0–2 years of professional experience, including internships, in product management, product operations, technology, consulting, business analysis, customer success, project coordination, or other collaborative problem-solving roles.  

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize information, identify patterns, and solve complex problems.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and build productive relationships across technical and business teams.  

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn technical concepts, software tools, and enterprise technologies.  

  • Comfortable working with data, documentation, and technical resources to investigate issues and support decision-making.  

  • A collaborative mindset, strong sense of ownership, and a desire to continuously learn and grow.

  • Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Internship or professional experience supporting software products, enterprise technology platforms, or digital operations.  

  • Familiarity with Agile product development practices and tools such as Jira or Confluence.  

  • Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or visualization tools through coursework, internships, research, or professional experience.  

  • Experience using or learning technical collaboration tools such as GitHub, API documentation, SQL, or similar technologies.  

  • Interest in enterprise data management, distributed systems, cloud technologies, or real-time data processing.  

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and deliver high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
