About The Opportunity

The Associate Director, Marketing Procurement will lead marketing procurement across all marketing and communications categories, including but not limited to creative, media, public relations, and MarTech, across the Wonder Group portfolio (including Wonder, Blue Apron, Grubhub, and Tastemade and others).


This role will lead the evaluation and negotiation of strategic marketing partnerships and suppliers, develop procurement strategies, and provide actionable insights into the company’s marketing spend and supplier footprint. You will partner closely with key stakeholders across Growth, Brand, and Communications to drive successful outcomes in supplier negotiations, identify opportunities for consolidation or expansion, and ensure the organization is maximizing value from its marketing investments.


With a holistic, enterprise-wide view of our Marketing ecosystem, you will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize spend, strengthen supplier partnerships, and establish consistent strategies and best practices across the organization. This role will serve as a strategic partner to marketing leadership, balancing business needs, creativity, performance, and commercial value to support Wonder Group’s broader goals.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Develop and execute marketing procurement strategy across Wonder Group’s marketing and communications categories, including media, creative, public relations, MarTech, production, agencies, market research, events, and other marketing services 
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to Wonder Group’s marketing stakeholders, providing best-in-class marketing sourcing & procurement consulting
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications leadership to understand business priorities, translate marketing needs into procurement strategies, and identify opportunities to improve value, efficiency, and supplier performance 
  • Use data analytics, industry benchmarking and strategic sourcing methodologies to develop and execute sourcing strategies, business strategies and change management programs to stakeholders
  • Support the development, negotiation, and purchasing of high impact sourcing projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with the overall priorities and objectives of Wonder Group and its Marketing business stakeholders
  • Evaluate and drive towards recommendation on outside benchmarking solutions to support negotiations
  • Analyze marketing spend and supplier footprint across the Wonder Group portfolio to identify opportunities for cost optimization, consolidation, rationalization, and improved supplier utilization
  • Self manage workload and appropriately communicate opportunities and challenges to your Leader
  • Manager and mentor a Marketing Procurement, Manager
  • Provide regular communication to leadership on project status, contract renewals, category performance, and various initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate delegation of projects and responsibilities to your direct report
  • Collaborate with Legal, Cyber Security and Corporate IT on AI topics and standards
  • Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert for marketing procurement, providing a “bird’s-eye view” of the organization’s marketing supplier ecosystem and helping ensure Wonder Group is aligned around common procurement goals and best practices. 
  • Identify gaps in resourcing, knowledge, process, policy, etc. and provide recommendations

What You Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement and Marketing specific negotiations
  • Must have experience within a multi-entity and/or fast-paced environment
  • Bachelors degree required - in related field

As a matter of company policy, Wonder does not sponsor applicants for employment visa status for this role.


Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.


NYC Base Salary: $174,000-$183,500 per year.

Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
