Position Overview: The Strategic Analytics (SA) team is a core business unit within the Business Operations department of NYCEDC’s Asset Management (AM) Division. The team is responsible for division-wide oversight of budgeting, financial analysis, project management, and process automation.

The Associate will support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reporting tools, and data processes that help inform business decisions. This role will work closely with team members to support reporting needs, troubleshoot basic issues, and contribute to improving how data is collected, analyzed, and utilized.

This position is ideal for someone with foundational technical skills in business intelligence tools who is interested in building experience in data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration within a real estate and asset management environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards and reports using Power BI, including assisting with data modeling, Power Query transformations, and DAX measures.
  • Maintain assigned reporting workflows by helping to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely updates, and supporting troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide support to users of dashboards, reports, and data tools, including responding to questions and assisting with basic guidance.
  • Contribute to improvements identified by the team to improve data collection, reporting processes, and internal workflows.
  • Support the design and deployment of tools and solutions (e.g., PowerApps) to enhance data collection and workflow processes
  • Support the development and maintenance of tools using Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate).
  • Develop working knowledge of the division’s assets and the teams who manage them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 1–2 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Power BI/DAX.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to combine and model data from multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, MS Lists) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting reporting or analytics functions (internship or professional) preferred.
  • A portfolio (e.g., GitHub) demonstrating technical proficiency and clear written communication is preferred.
  • Experience/Interest in real estate, asset management, or project management preferred.
  • New York City government experience a plus.
  • New York City residency (required within 180 days of hire).
Salary Range
$80,000$82,000 USD
