Business Development Executive – BFSI

Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Executive (BDE) with deep Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) expertise to lead client growth across the Americas.
You’ll prospect, shape, and close transformative digital and software engineering engagements that deliver measurable business impact.
As part of Thoughtworks’ Strategic Sales team, you will develop executive relationships, craft winning value propositions, orchestrate complex deal pursuits, and drive long-term growth through consultative selling and trusted advisory.

Job responsibilities
  • Build and expand executive relationships within BFSI enterprises through directoutreach, networking, and partnerships.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles — from prospecting to deal negotiation (MSA, SOW, ratecards) and closure of $10M+ opportunities.
  • Position Thoughtworks’ differentiated offerings across product design, custom software,data & AI, and platform modernization.
  • Shape strategic opportunities that enable digital reinvention and operational resilience.
  • Partner with alliances (AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud) and internal delivery and solutionteams to craft tailored solutions.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline (~3x target) through disciplined prospecting, referrals, andecosystem engagement.
  • Stay current on BFSI trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to positionThoughtworks as a trusted transformation partner.
Job qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Deep understanding of retail & commercial banking, capital markets, payments,fintech, insurance, and wealth management.
  •  Expertise in digital banking, open banking, and customer experience transformation.
  • Familiarity with core modernization, AI/ML applications (fraud, credit, personalization),real-time payments, and risk/compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, Basel, CCAR,NAIC).
  • Experience with data modernization, workflow automation, cloud transformation,and ESG/green finance initiatives.
  • Strong network across financial institutions and fintechs, with a track record of enablinginnovation and efficiency.
Professional Skills
  • 10+ years of consultative sales experience in digital transformation, custom software, orIT services.
  • “Hunter” mindset with proven success winning large, complex deals ($10M+ TCV).
  • Gravitas to engage C-level executives and drive strategic conversations.
  • Deep domain knowledge of BFSI priorities, operations, and compliance environment.
  • Ability to articulate value-driven, technology-enabled business outcomes.
  •  Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and hands-on approach to pursuits and clientengagement.
