Job Summary & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the servicing and marketing of a book of business as assigned by direct manager.
  • Responsible for analysis of policy forms, complex and detailed coverage comparisons, identifying exposures and making appropriate recommendations to clients and assisting clients with understanding of policy coverages.
  • Responsible for renewing all assigned policies to ensure they are issued on a timely basis and in accordance with prescribed workflows. This includes detailed documentation in Epic system.
  • Knowledge and use of platforms such as EPIC, INDIO, CSR24 and Lineslip.
  • Responsible for monitoring management reports in Epic including Expiration Reports and other reports as assigned by Dept Manager.
  • Develops and maintains relationship with assigned commercial clients, including in depth coverage analysis, presentations to clients, analyzing risks and identifying exposures.
  • Direct and frequent involvement and negotiations with insurance company underwriters.
  • Training of other staff members as well as participation in training of new employees.
  • Reliance on extensive experience and judgement to plan and assist in accomplishing department goals as set by department manager and senior management.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Skills:
  • Strong insurance technical skills -- must have deep knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy forms and insurance industry marketplace.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage book of commercial business.
  • Strong communication skills -- directly works with all VIS Depts, Insurance carrier underwriters and larger clients.
Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 8 years relevant agency experience.
  • Insurance broker's license.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Additional insurance designations (i.e., CPCU, CIC) also preferred.
