Rockstar is recruiting for a well-funded, early-stage healthcare company that is proving nurse-practitioner-led care isn't just more accessible—it's better. The client helps NPs build and scale independent practices in communities too often overlooked by the health system: rural towns, immigrant populations, LGBTQ+ patients, and more. Backed by AI-driven tools that give independent NPs the backing of a much bigger system, their network of 100+ practices covering 400,000 annual visits has driven a 30% increase in preventative visits and a 35% drop in hospitalizations—the clearest sign yet that localized NP-led care means better outcomes. The client is led by seasoned entrepreneurs and nurse practitioners and backed by investors including Lerer Hippeau and Kairos.

About the Client

The client is proving that nurse-practitioner-led care isn't just more accessible, it's better. They help NPs build and scale independent practices in communities too often overlooked by the health system: rural towns, immigrant populations, LGBTQ+ patients, and more. Backed by AI-driven tools that give independent NPs the backing of a much bigger system, their network of 100+ practices covering 400,000 annual visits has driven a 30% increase in preventative visits and a 35% drop in hospitalizations, the clearest sign yet that localized NP-led care means better outcomes.

They are a well-funded, early-stage company led by seasoned entrepreneurs and nurse practitioners, and backed by investors including Lerer Hippeau and Kairos.

Why the Client, Why Now

Independent primary care is disappearing, swallowed by hospital systems and private equity roll-ups, often pulling out of the communities that need it most. But 31 states now support autonomous NP practice, and the results back up what the client has long believed. They built the first value-based care contracts for NPs with major payors, taking on real financial risk for outcomes. In their anchor market in New Hampshire, their network outperformed the state on total cost of care by 19%, proof that a solo NP in an underserved area can outperform a system ten times their size and get rewarded for it.

The Role

The client is the leading network of independent NP practice owners in the US. Their virtual and in-person communities are one of the ways they find NP entrepreneurs, teach them to launch, and support them as they grow.

They are hiring a Community and Events Manager to own all of the client's community programming, including the management of their virtual communities, virtual and in-person events, and courses they may launch to support practice owners.

This is a 0-1, high ownership role — the person will be building the community operating playbook, working closely with GTM, Ops, and Product to define strategic priorities and resources needed to support the network.

What You'll Own

Community Strategy & Management

  • Own the build and operation of all of the client's virtual communities, including the Founders Community and the Scaler community, where practices connect with each other
  • Develop programming and engagement mode for each community, and keep them connected to the client's customer journey and content
  • Drive engagement and attendance as a leading indicator of retention and referral
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with NP practice owners

Event Planning

  • Plan and run virtual and in-person events to reach and engage prospective launchers and current community members, including partnerships with NP associations, vendors, influencers and conferences
  • Run webinars, virtual events and courses as well as in-person dinners, happy hours and trips that bring NPs together, owning budget, logistics, vendors and follow-up

Education, Content and Resources

  • Coordinate course and content production, partnering with internal stakeholders and contractors to develop relevant courses, articles, and other resources
  • Keep this content current as payer and regulatory realities shift market to market

Internal Operations

  • Build customer experience workflows for practices in the client's communities, identifying when and where they should engage with the client
  • Create campaigns that find practice owners at the right time and keep them engaged
  • Work with Growth, Product and Engineering to automate processes and develop strong handoffs as community members become customers

What the Client is Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in a role that combined high ownership, community/event management, and cross-functional execution — healthcare, health-tech, franchise operations, or provider network growth backgrounds are all relevant
  • Experience planning and running both virtual and in-person events, from webinars to dinners and trips
  • Relationship building - you're excited to support clinicians on their entrepreneurial journeys
  • A track record of owning a metric you didn't fully control and moving it anyway
  • Comfort building from a blank page and experimenting until you find what works
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you'll be creating content NPs actually read and speaking at events where you represent the client

Compensation

$90K–$110K OTE based on experience, including a variable bonus tied to pipeline generated through the client's communities plus equity
