phData is expanding its advisory practice with a focus on building our business with Anthropic and guiding our Customers on building out their AI FinOps Strategy. We are looking for a Consulting Director to lead that growth. This is a senior, Customer-facing leadership role for someone who has advised executives on enterprise technology strategy before and wants to bring that experience to how organizations plan, govern, and pay for AI.

The ideal candidate splits their time three ways:

  • Trusted advisor in the room with Customer executives, their teams, and phData delivery resources
  • Builder of our Anthropic book of business and services
  • Public voice on how enterprises should think about the economics of AI, bringing a credible point of view on FinOps in AI to conversations that are often dominated by technical considerations alone

This role is accountable for turning our Advisory capabilities, that span Strategy, Governance, and Change, into sellable, repeatable offerings and for personally delivering the highest-value engagements.

What You'll DoExecutive Advisory & Delivery
  • Serve as a senior advisor to Customer executives (CIO, CFO, CTO, CDO, Chief AI Officer, and their staffs) on AI strategy, governance, and organizational change tied to Anthropic/Claude adoption
  • Design and personally lead strategy sessions, and advisory engagements spanning AI operating model design, governance frameworks, and FinOps for AI cost management
  • Bring a defined perspective on FinOps in AI: unit economics of LLM usage, cost allocation and chargeback/showback models, model selection and token-cost tradeoffs, and how finance, engineering, and business functions should collaborate to manage AI spend at scale
  • Act as the escalation point and quality bar for advisory delivery, ensuring engagements meet a consistently high standard and produce outcomes that customers can act on
Practice & Business Growth
  • Own and grow the Anthropic-focused Advisory pipeline, translating our capabilities into offerings that Customers want to buy
  • Partner with sales and account teams on presales, shaping proposals, scoping advisory engagements, and participating directly in Customer pursuits
  • Work with Anthropic's GTM and alliance teams to develop joint offerings, referral pipeline, and co-selling motions
  • Define and evolve the advisory service catalog, including offerings, pricing, and delivery methodology, as the practice scales
Marketing & Thought Leadership
  • Publish points of view, whitepapers, and frameworks, particularly on AI FinOps, that establish phData and the individual as a recognized voice in the market
  • Represent phData at industry events, webinars, and Anthropic-sponsored forums
  • Partner with marketing on campaigns, case studies, and content that support pipeline generation for the Advisory practice
Delivery Oversight
  • Oversee a portfolio of advisory engagements, ensuring consistent methodology, staffing, and quality across delivery teams
  • Mentor and develop consulting talent within the Advisory practice
  • Own Customer satisfaction and outcomes for related engagements, through proactive delivery management, executive engagement, and escalation resolution
What You'll Bring
  • 12+ years in management consulting, strategy advisory, or a senior enterprise technology leadership role, with a track record of advising C-level executives
  • Direct experience with FinOps, ideally spanning both cloud financial management and emerging AI/LLM cost management (token economics, model cost-performance tradeoffs, usage governance, chargeback/showback)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating strategy sessions
  • Working knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI frameworks, and experience leading organizational change tied to AI or major technology adoption
  • Experience with Anthropic's Claude platform, and the broader enterprise AI landscape
  • Business development experience, comfortable shaping deals, scoping SOWs, and participating in presales conversations
  • A point of view others want to hear, comfortable writing, speaking, and representing the firm publicly
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to Customer sites
What Success Looks Like
  • A growing, healthy pipeline of Anthropic-aligned advisory engagements, with phData recognized as a go-to partner for AI strategy, governance, and FinOps
  • A recognizable market point of view on AI FinOps, backed by published content and speaking engagements
  • Advisory delivery that consistently earns strong Customer feedback and repeat or expansion business
