Role Summary

As a team, we collaborate to turn data into meaningful insights that will have a direct impact on patient's lives and the future of Pfizer as a data-driven organization.
We are seeking a strategic, consultative, and technically adept Director, Data Strategy & Management - Field Force Analytics to lead our data strategy and execution efforts supporting field force analytics. This role will be a critical interface between data science, field force analytics, and digital stakeholders, ensuring that the right data foundations are in place to power intelligent field force decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of commercial field force operations, data ecosystems, and analytic decision enablers such as targeting, segmentation, territory alignment, bagging structure, sizing, and performance measurement. They will also be responsible for helping to shape a vision for the future field force data strategy, building common data layers, and leading the development of scalable data solutions in partnership with Digital, enabling a high-performing commercial field team.
This role will partner closely with key stakeholders across Data Strategy & Management (DSM), Performance Analytics & Insights (PAI), Finance, Digital, and third-party vendors to identify relevant data assets, drive data ingestion and transformation, establish governance, and enable scalable, automated solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong consultative mindset, commercial analytics domain expertise, and the ability to influence and drive innovation through agile, data-driven practices.
Role Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Domain Leadership
  • Define and drive the end-to-end data strategy for field force analytics, aligning with commercial objectives and enterprise data vision, in partnership with Digital.
  • Create a visible roadmap that enables the future of field force analytics and solutions
  • Drive scoping and design of data architecture and layers needed to support multiple analytics capabilities powering the field force
  • Identify and prioritize data initiatives that improve decision-making speed, precision, efficiency and scalability across our Commercial teams.

Prototyping & Innovation
  • Lead prototyping of data solutions enabling field force analytics capabilities including sizing, targeting, segmentation, engagement/call planning, next best action frameworks, reporting and insights to optimize field force effectiveness
  • Translate complex business needs into clear data requirements and collaborate with engineering and data science partners to rapidly test and refine prototypes.
  • Balance innovation with pragmatism-ensuring agile delivery of minimum viable products (MVPs) while planning for scale.

Consultative Partnership & Communication
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and data consultant to key internal stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment with Data Science in partnership with Digital.
  • Be a thought partner with assessing current gaps and providing solutions to address any data gaps
  • Clearly articulate the field force data landscape and ecosystem and effectively communicate how different data assets interconnect and support analytic use cases.
  • Influence decision-making through structured thinking, storytelling with data, and actionable recommendations.

Responsiveness & Adaptability
  • Maintain close alignment with evolving business needs, establishing fit-for-purpose working models with key collaborators and stakeholders to deliver responsive data solutions that can flex with changes in data science models, or sales force strategy.
  • Proactively monitor emerging trends in data and field operations to recommend future enhancements and innovations.
  • Help enable core partner teams with access or direction on access to data sources

Basic Qualifications
Must have:
  • 8+ years of experience in data strategy, data management, or analytics in the Life Sciences or Bio-Pharma industry with a BA/BS or 7+ years of experience with a Master's degree
  • Deep understanding of field force operations and relevant data types (e.g., call activity, target lists, alignments, customer interactions, sales)
  • Proven experience in building or leading data solutions for customer targeting, segmentation, or field planning tools.
  • Strong consultative skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts in business language.
  • Hands-on familiarity with data platform tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Python), modern data stacks, and agile development processes.

Preferred Qualifications
Nice to have:
  • Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics solutions in the context of commercial analytics capabilities Familiarity with CRM systems, third-party health data sources (e.g., IQVIA), and field execution platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud data environments, workflow automation, and data product management

Work Location Assignment: Must be able to work in assigned Pfizer office 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
