About PointFive

PointFive is the AI Efficiency OS. From the cloud to the coding agent, we're the only platform that manages AI spend everywhere it happens.

Engineering and FinOps teams use PointFive to make their organizations more efficient and their cloud and AI more effective. We don't just show what you spend. We show what you're wasting, and we fix it autonomously. NuBank saw ROI in 10 days. Customers average 1,200%+ ROI and a 4.9 rating on G2.

Founded by the team behind IntSights (acquired by Rapid7), PointFive recently closed a $60M Series B led by Accel, with participation from Entrée Capital and Salesforce Ventures.

We're hiring a Director of Legal to serve as PointFive's first in-house legal counsel and build the legal function from the ground up. This is a broad, high-ownership role: you'll cover the full spectrum of company legal - commercial contracts and deal support, corporate housekeeping, compliance, and everything in between - while putting in place the infrastructure that makes the business faster as it grows. This leader is equal parts player/coach, process builder, legal counsel and owner, and hands-on executor.

You'll report into VP of Operations and work as a close partner to Sales, RevOps, Finance, HR and leadership across the business. You'll know when to get into the weeds on a deal and when to step back and let the team move. If you're energized by building from scratch, moving quickly, and having a real seat at the table, this role might be for you.

What You'll Own

Commercial Legal and Deal Desk

  • Serve as in-house counsel for all commercial activity: draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SaaS agreements, NDAs, SOWs, and amendments.

  • Drive commercial contracting end-to-end — guide GTM teams through negotiations and MSA reviews, building their judgment on tradeoffs and risk over time. Get into the weeds where a deal requires it; remove yourself where the team can move without you.

  • Own the legal side of contract lifecycle management: intake, routing, templates, repository, and reporting, in close coordination with RevOps and Sales Ops whose Order Form, CPQ, and contract-management systems the legal workflow flows from.

  • Standardize approval workflows and turnaround SLAs so deals move faster, not slower, when they hit Legal.

Partnerships Legal Management

  • Support partnership agreements with cloud providers, channel partners, and technology alliances.

  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team on deal structure, IP ownership, and commercial terms.

  • Cloud Marketplace Contracting legal requirements (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) - EULA amendments, CCP terms, DPA addendums, MDF agreements

Corporate and Company Legal

  • Own the company's corporate legal foundation: entity maintenance and coordination with external counsel on corporate governance matters.

  • Support G&A activity as needed - interfacing with Finance, HR, and Operations to keep corporate housekeeping running cleanly.

  • Manage IP ownership, trademarks, assignment agreements, and any licensing matters that arise as the product and partnerships expand.

  • Be the internal go-to for any legal question that doesn't fit a neat category — the kind of role where "that's not my area" is not an answer.

Employment Law (Israel, US, UK, Global)

  • Handle employment matters: offer letters, contractor agreements, separation agreements, and policy updates in coordination with HR and Operations.

  • Familiarity with dual-entity structures and equity matters (US/Israel) a plus.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess legal and business risk across contracts, partnerships, vendors, and new commercial motions.

  • Build a consistent framework for evaluating and communicating risk to leadership — not just flagging issues, but recommending how to navigate them.

  • Leverage outside counsel efficiently: deploy them on spiky, unfamiliar, or high-stakes matters where specialization matters; handle the rest in-house.

  • Advise on corporate governance, employment matters, and any legal exposure that arises as the company scales.

What You'll Support

Compliance

  • Partner with Security and Engineering on data privacy obligations and audit readiness.

  • Support Security/Technology with the company's compliance posture across SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and other applicable frameworks.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure internal policies stay current and enforced - particularly relevant given the pace of change in AI regulation (EU AI Act, state-level AI laws, etc.).

RFPs and Security Questionnaires

  • Lead legal review and response for RFPs, security questionnaires, and customer due diligence requests.

  • Support Solution Engineering and build repeatable playbooks and response libraries to reduce cycle time and lift the quality of every submission.

Vendor Legal Management

  • Support finance with vendor contract review and negotiation - software, contractors services, data, and infrastructure agreements.

  • Maintain a vendor contract repository and proactively flag risks, and obligations.

  • Partner with Finance on procurement and approval processes of onboarding and renewal of vendor contracts

What Success Looks Like
  • Contract lifecycle is under control: templates exist, intake is clean, and the repository is a source of truth, not a mess.

  • GTM teams are faster — legal has reduced friction on standard deals without increasing exposure.

  • Risk is visible: leadership knows what's in the pipeline, what's been escalated to outside counsel, and why.

  • Compliance posture is documented and audit-ready — no scrambling when a customer or auditor asks.

  • The business trusts Legal as an accelerator, not a bottleneck.

What We're Looking For
  • 5-7 years of legal experience in a hi-tech company or hi-tech sector under a law firm.

  • Technical fluency: you don't need to write code, but you understand how software products are built, deployed, and sold.

  • JD from an accredited law school and bar admission (New York preferred).

  • Deep fluency in commercial contracts: SaaS agreements, MSAs, NDAs, data processing agreements, and vendor terms.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously - you've owned a function, not just supported one.

  • Track record of partnering closely with Sales and RevOps: you understand the commercial process, not just the contracts.

  • Experience managing outside counsel - knowing when to deploy them and how to extract value efficiently.

  • Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) and the operational work that keeps them current.

  • Strong instincts on risk: you know when to push back, when to move fast, and how to explain the difference to a non-lawyer.

  • Clear, direct communicator - in contracts and in conversation.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, data security, or FinOps industry context.

  • Prior experience building legal processes and tooling from an early-stage baseline.

Benefits & Perks:
  • Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $240,000.

  • Health, dental, vision (yes, all three!), equity in something early-stage and exciting, generous PTO, 401K, meal & commuter benefits, a team that will actually challenge you and much more.
