Title and Summary
Director Marketing Commercialization & Services Monetization
Mastercard's U.S. Marketing & Communications organization manages a powerful portfolio of sponsorships, experiences, intellectual property and marketing assets that can create differentiated value for our customers while driving incremental revenue for Mastercard.
We are seeking a Director, Marketing Commercialization & Services Monetization to build and manage the commercial discipline around these assets. This individual will sit at the intersection of Partnership Marketing, Sponsorships, and Services, helping transform our portfolio of rights and assets into compelling, scalable solutions for financial institutions,
merchant partners and other U.S. customers.
We are looking for a commercially minded operator with strong financial acumen who can bring structure, discipline and accountability to how assets are valued, packaged, sold, tracked and fulfilled.
Role• Own the commercial and financial management of monetizable U.S. marketing assets and campaigns, with clear visibility into revenue, cost, margin, utilization and overall portfolio performance.• Establish and manage the end-to-end operating model for marketing asset
monetization; from inventory and valuation through packaging, pipeline
development, sale and fulfillment.• Collaborate across marketing communications to translate sponsorship rights, experiences and other marketing assets into differentiated customer solutions.• Develop commercially compelling packages that combine individual rights and assets into scalable offerings aligned to customer needs and Mastercard growth priorities.• Manage the pipeline of monetization opportunities, working with customer-facing teams to identify demand, advance opportunities and drive conversion.• Serve as a key connection into the Services commercial organization, ensuring opportunities are appropriately structured, forecasted and incorporated into the Services revenue pipeline.• Apply strong financial discipline to pricing, deal economics, margin and investment decisions, providing leadership with a clear view of portfolio performance and future revenue potential.• Understand contractual and intellectual property rights and work with
Sponsorships, Legal and other partners to determine what Mastercard can
commercialize, package and pass through to customers.• Maintain a single source of truth for available, committed and sold inventory,
ensuring Mastercard maximizes utilization while meeting existing contractual and customer commitments.• Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure sold assets are successfully fulfilled, and customer commitments are met.• Establish governance, processes and reporting across the portfolio, creating greater consistency in how opportunities are evaluated, priced, approved, tracked and measured.• Use customer demand, utilization and financial performance to identify new
monetization opportunities and help inform future marketing and sponsorship
investment decisions.
All About You• You are a commercial operator first, comfortable owning revenue, economics, pipeline and performance• You have exceptional financial acumen and experience working with P&Ls, pricing, forecasting, margin, business cases and/or commercial deal structures.• You understand how to take a portfolio of assets or capabilities and turn it into clearly defined valuable and sellable customer propositions.• You bring strong operational discipline and are comfortable creating structure where it may not yet exist, building processes, governance, reporting and accountability across multiple teams.• You have experience with commercial rights, intellectual property, media,
sponsorships, partnerships, licensing, etc. and understand the fundamentals of valuation, packaging and fulfillment.• You are an exceptional cross-functional leader who is comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and can translate complex commercial and operational information into clear recommendations and decisions.• You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and are energized by the opportunity to build a new capability and establish the operating model around it.• Experience within payments, financial services, professional sports, entertainment,

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.
