Reports to: Chief Development & Communications Officer

As CAMBA approaches its 50th anniversary, our Development & Communications division is entering an exciting new chapter—building on a strong track record and preparing for an ambitious, transformational fundraising campaign that will help shape the organization’s future.

We’re looking for a Director of Marketing to play a central role in that work.

This is an opportunity for a creative, strategic nonprofit marketer who wants both a seat at the table and ownership of the work. The Director will serve as a key thought partner to the Chief Development & Communications Officer, bringing ideas, perspective and strong marketing judgment to CAMBA’s campaigns, then taking the lead in turning those ideas into thoughtful plans and high-quality execution.

The Director leads CAMBA’s two-person Marketing unit, supervising the Social Media & Website Manager, and works collaboratively across the nine-person Development & Communications division. The Director also manages outside designers, photographers, videographers and other creative partners.

We’re looking for someone who can take a strong idea and make it stronger—and then build the story map, content plan, creative approach and production plan needed to make it happen.

About CAMBA

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners working together to build an inclusive New York City where children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. Across more than 180 integrated programs in education and youth development, family support, workforce development, health, housing and legal services, CAMBA serves more than 70,000 New Yorkers annually at approximately 100 locations throughout the city. For nearly 50 years, CAMBA has combined the scale and expertise of a leading human-services organization with deep roots in the communities we serve.

About the Division

CAMBA’s Development & Communications division is a nine-person integrated operation encompassing institutional and individual fundraising, marketing and communications. The Director of Marketing leads the two-person Marketing unit and works directly with the Chief Development & Communications Officer. Collaboration is central to how we work, and the Director is expected to bring ideas, ask good questions, identify opportunities and offer a point of view. Once direction is established, the Director takes ownership of moving the work from concept through execution.

What You’ll Do

Shape and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
Serve as a thought partner to the Chief Development & Communications Officer, bringing ideas and marketing expertise to the table and turning agreed-upon direction into detailed, integrated campaigns.

Lead marketing for CAMBA’s 50th anniversary.
Help develop and execute the two-year anniversary marketing campaign across fundraising, digital, social, email, events, storytelling and branded materials.

Drive fundraising and event marketing.
Develop marketing for the year-end appeal, CAMBA Night Out, annual 5K, backpack and holiday toy drives, peer-to-peer fundraising and other campaigns designed to increase giving, participation and engagement.

Develop content and story plans.
Turn campaign themes and organizational priorities into monthly story maps and content calendars, identifying the stories, messages, creative assets, channels and calls to action needed to bring them to life.

Lead CAMBA’s brand and digital presence.
Steward CAMBA’s brand and visual identity and oversee marketing across social media, the website and email in partnership with the Social Media & Website Manager.

Direct and create compelling visual content.
Develop creative concepts and produce or oversee graphic design, video, photography, event collateral, presentations, signage and other marketing assets.

Manage the Marketing unit and creative resources.
Supervise and mentor the Social Media & Website Manager; manage outside designers, photographers, videographers and other vendors; and oversee CAMBA’s library of creative assets.

Measure and improve results.
Track campaign, social, email, web and digital fundraising performance and use the results to strengthen future marketing.
