Lazard Asset Management is seeking an Investment Analyst to assume primary responsibility and coverage for two to three sectors within Emerging Markets corporate credit. The analyst will developer issuer- and sector-level views across EM geographies and contribute directly to the investment process across standalone corporate-bond, blended EMD, and total-return strategies.  

We'll trust you to:  

 

  • Support coverage of approximately two to three EM corporate-credit sectors, with increasing ownership over time based on the candidate’s experience, performance, and team needs. 
  • Conduct fundamental analysis of corporate issuers, including assessment of: 
  • business profile and industry dynamics; 

  • leverage, liquidity, and refinancing risk; 

  • balance sheet, cash flow, income statement, capital structure, and covenant considerations; 

  • governance, ownership, country, regulatory, and ESG-related credit risks, where relevant. 

  • Develop and maintain issuer models, investment views, relative-value frameworks, and credit recommendations for bonds within the assigned coverage universe. 
  • Present clear, timely, well-supported, and actionable recommendations to PMs and the broader investment team. 
  • Contribute to, and over time help drive, positioning discussions for issuers in covered sectors across standalone EM corporate-bond, blended EMD, and total-return portfolios, within the team’s investment process and risk framework. 
  • Monitor issuer-specific, sector, market, and macro developments; identify catalysts, downside risks, and changes to investment theses. 
  • Feed bottom-up issuer and sector insights into broader EM d ebt, country, and macro discussions. 
  • Collaborate closely with PMs, traders, and other analysts to ensure research is timely, decision-useful, and efficiently incorporated into portfolios.


You’ll need to have: 

  • 5+ years of relevant investment, research, or credit-analysis experiencewith the analytical foundation and maturity to take on independent coverage responsibility. 
  • Prior fundamental credit-analysis experience. 
  • Financial-statement analysis skills, including analysis of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, liquidity, leverage, capital structure, and refinancing risk. 
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into a clear investment conclusion. 
  • Written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate a recommendation and supporting analysis in a concise, cogent, and well-structured manner. 
  • Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively across a dynamic workflow. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an investment-team environment while taking ownership of assigned research responsibilities. 
  • Data and technology skills, including Python, SQL, Bloomberg APIs, databases, or tools that improve research efficiency and workflow automation. 
  • Data-visualization skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly through charts, dashboards, and concise research materials. 
  • Experience analyzing financial institutions would be a plus. 
  • EM corporate-credit experience is preferred; however, candidates from developed-market corporate credit, ratings, leveraged finance, corporate banking, or equity research may also be considered.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $135,000-175,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Asset Management’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
