This job is responsible for advancing complex initiatives and establishing operational excellence. It focuses on strategic network design and deployment, optimizing system performance and reliability. The role is instrumental in mentoring technical teams and leading cross-functional projects for operational improvements.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Experience with the following vendors:
  • Cisco
  • Juniper
  • Ciena
  • Nokia
  • Arris Modems

Experience with the following technologies:
  • Metro-Ethernet Carrier Services
  • Service Provider (Segment Routing, BGP, MPLS RSVP/LDP, OSPF/ISIS)
    • OAM/QOS
    • L1 Optical (WAVE/Dark Fiber)
    • *DOCSIS

Experience with the following responsibilities
  • Handle major outages and direct inter-departmental resources as needed
  • Handle complex mitigation requests such as on-demand circuit moves across multiple devices
  • Handle departmental adoption of new products/services, tools, and practices
  • Handle escalated customer communications
  • Draft FCC-compliant legal documents for Root Cause Analysis
  • Must have strong process knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have regular, punctual attendance (may include weekends/on-call rotation)
  • Follow the In Office policy

CERTIFICATIONS
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Service Provider (CCNP-SP) or equivalent
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) (formerly Juniper Network) Specialist Service Provider (JNCIS-SP) or equivalent
  • Metro Ethernet 2 or 3 certification (multiple vendors: Ciena, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Any NOKIA certification

  • Designing advanced network solutions to solve highly complex engineering challenges across regional operations
  • Establishing and updating network operational policies and procedures to proactively manage future technical issues
  • Authoring detailed systems engineering documentation to facilitate network maintenance and issue resolution
  • Ensuring rigorous adherence to network standards throughout the engineering design life cycle for all projects
  • Leading the planning, deployment, and performance evaluation of critical network services, including CRAN and CMTS
  • Configuring network routing to maximize efficiency and manage customer traffic across multiple network components
  • Analyzing network traffic and capacity data to forecast infrastructure needs and guide strategic planning
  • Directing cross-functional teams in projects that enhance the support for a wide range of network services
  • Providing technical mentorship and developing training programs to build depth of expertise in operations teams
  • Building and managing relationships with regional and local market stakeholders to align network operations with business goals
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Salary:
New Jersey Pay Range: $99,863.30 - $149,794.95
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
