Fabrication and Assembly Operator
Preferred Qualifications
Farmshelf is hiring skilled fabrication and assembly operators in Brooklyn, NY, to help scale production of the new Farmshelf F3 hydroponic cabinet. Operators may contribute to all aspects of production including kitting, subassembly, finishing, quality assurance, and packaging.
Position type: contract 30 hours per week
Working days: Monday - Friday
Salary range: $20-25 / hour
Qualifications- Proficient with hand and power tools, good dexterity
- 2+ years of experience in fabrication and assembly in a shop or factory environment
- Readiness to regularly stoop down or lift materials (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong attention to following standard operating procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times
- Readiness to speak up and report issues clearly and promptly to the supervisor
- Willingness to participate in continuous improvement exercises
- Commitment to arrive on time and ready for work according to assigned shifts
- Physical fitness to work hands on and on one’s feet for 8 hour daily shifts
**Bonus Qualifications: experience with electrical harnessing, soldering, and crimping. Previous experience with operation of CNC routing tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with small batch production
- Previous experience with cable assemblies and electromechanical device manufacturing
- Previous experience with quality control in a manufacturing environment
- Driver’s license
