Company Description

Wonderful Sales is the sales and merchandising organization for The Wonderful Company, including iconic brands such as Wonderful Pistachios, FIJI Water, POM Wonderful, and Wonderful Halos. Our NY Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operation, located in Bronx, NY, consists of approximately 30 employees, 12 delivery vehicles, and a 14,000-square-foot warehouse with refrigerated (38°F) and ambient storage environments, serving more than 900 retail customers throughout the Greater New York Metro area.

We are seeking a Finance & Administration Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance, customer service, administrative, and business systems functions supporting our New York DSD operation. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance & Operations, this is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and working across different areas of the business.

This individual will manage our Accounting and Customer Service functions, partner closely with Operations and Sales, and serve as the local power user for the business systems and technology that support our operation. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in finance and accounting, is highly comfortable with technology, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to support a fast-paced, on-site operation.

Job Description

Finance & Accounting

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial and accounting activities for the Bronx DSD operation and provide hands-on support and backup as needed.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory reconciliation and review of financial results.
  • Review P&L performance, investigate variances and provide management with clear insights into business performance and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate financial information within the ERP system, including revenues, expenses, purchasing, inventory and customer-related data.
  • Partner with Finance leadership on annual budgeting, forecasts and periodic outlooks.
  • Develop financial analyses and models to support operational decisions, customer opportunities, promotions, new products and other business initiatives.
  • Establish, maintain and report key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Oversee route settlement activities, cash collection, accounts receivable and related financial controls.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of sales and/or driver commission calculations.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analyses as needed.

 

Administration & Customer Service

  • Lead the administrative functions that support the daily DSD operation.
  • Oversee customer service activities, ensuring orders, customer questions, credits, pricing issues and service concerns are handled accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure customer, product, pricing and other master data are accurately maintained within business systems.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations and Finance teams to support new customers, new product SKUs and changes to existing business.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve service levels.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination between the Bronx DSD operation and corporate support teams.
  • Serve as the local business systems power user for the DSD operation, supporting the effective use of our ERP, WMS, SharePoint, Power BI dashboards, routing and GPS tracking software, and other office technology.
  • Partner with Corporate IT on technical issues and system support needs.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve how technology and business systems are used across the operation.

 

Team Leadership

  • Manage a team comprised of accounting, customer service and operations support.
  • Foster a culture of maintaining personal, driving and food safety standards in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Backfill for direct reports when away for vacation, sick or personal time off.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Travel as needed to Los Angeles headquarters for meetings/training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field, including proven success in leading initiatives from beginning to completion and collaborating across a diverse group of individuals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting , Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Advanced user of MS Office, particularly Excel, Power BI and Power Automate.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning, navigating and supporting ERP and other business systems; prior IT or programming experience is not required.
  • Creative problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both internally and externally.
  • Understand business metrics and how to identify opportunities through volume and compliance reports.
  • An enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated, resourceful team player is a must.
  • Experience in DSD, distribution, food and beverage, CPG, or another operational environment is a plus but not required.
  • Ideal candidate will reside in New York, NY metro area and must be able to work on-site at our Bronx location five days per week.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
