About the Role:

We’re a lean accounting team looking for a hands-on finance professional who can switch between build and operate modes and has strong startup exposure. You’ll own core accounting operations and enterprise-level reporting, partner closely with the VP, Finance & Operations, and work with our accountant on month-end close as well as own the AP/AR processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can navigate cash-basis to accrual-basis shifts, and has superb attention to detail while moving fast. If you’re eager to learn and grow in finance and operations, read on.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders (investors, auditors, advisors). Maintain dashboards, variance analyses, and commentary.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP standards, prepare and support audit/diligence materials and respond to various investor reporting requests.
  • Own month-end close, AP/AR, cash-to-accrual, and board-level reporting in a lean accounting team; partner closely with the VP Finance & Ops.
  • Own financial dashboards, variance analysis, and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Work towards building a global headcount reporting structure and headcount reports as the company scales.
  • Work closely with the accountant facilitating a timely and accurate month-end close process.
  • Own Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes end-to-end: invoicing, collections cadence, vendor setup/payments, policy/compliance hygiene.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely closures and accuracy.
  • Drive process accuracy and cycle-time reduction; design controls that scale.
  • Support FP&A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Translate actuals to insights leaders can act on.
  • Help streamline and improve finance processes, controls and documentation as the company scales and shifts to accrual-based accounting methodology.
  • Partner across People Ops, Legal, Operations, and Leadership to align headcount, spend, and vendor plans with financial goals.

Requirement

  • 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles, preferably in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and still deliver accurate, on-time outputs.
  • Demonstrated cash-basis and accrual-basis accounting fluency; comfortable with methodology shifts and explaining the “why.”
  • Hands-on experience managing AR/AP processes and month-end close experience; strong reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Enterprise-level reporting skills (board/investor quality), impeccable attention to detail, and crisp documentation.
  • High ownership, learning mindset, and calm execution under changing priorities.
  • Keen desire for professional growth with a transparent and trustworthy approach.
  • Advanced Excel/Sheets; working knowledge of modern accounting/finance tools.
  • Systems hands-on familiarity: QBO, Ramp, Expensify.

Nice to Have

  • SaaS/VC-backed experience; familiarity with revenue drivers and usage/contract nuances.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling, and KPI frameworks.
  • Comfort with today’s finance and accounting stacks and automation tools.
