Overview: Spur is every company’s AI QA Engineer.

New York City

Spur builds fundamental technology for the future of QA: autonomous browser agents that think, explore, validate, and self-heal like real users. We’re not another test tool — we’re reimagining how digital teams ship with confidence.

The market has responded loudly. Top brands (Alo Yoga, Living Spaces, HelloFresh, Nextdoor, Abercrombie & Fitch, and more) are actively pulling us in. Inbound demand is exploding. Sales cycles are fast. And the product actually delivers — teams go live in days, not months.

We’re a small, elite team of builders from DeepMind, Figma, ex-founders and customers — shipping at a pace that big companies can’t touch.

Our Mission: We want to help our customers deliver the best digital experiences

The Role

As our founding infra/backend engineer, you’ll architect the backbone of Spur’s core platform—define, build, and scale mission-critical infra powering our web agents.

We own our entire stack end-to-end—you’ll orchestrate fleets of browsers and web agents in the cloud and optimize them at massive scale. You’ll work directly with the founders, solving frontier infra problems with real customer impact, and set the gold standard across our stack, from low-level infra to the UX delivered by our agents.

What you’ll do

  • Build and scale our core infra to run and launch thousands of browser and web agents every day.

  • Design, implement and maintain our clusters, CI/CD, observability, and CI/CD practices

  • Rapidly iterate with product, engineering, and founders

Bonus Points

  • Experience with distributed task queues, performance/scalability optimization

  • Have worked driving impact at smaller teams and scaling infrastructure 0-1

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Have 5+ years designing, shipping, and operating at-scale infra

  • Have deep expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Terraform

  • Understand how infrastructure decisions directly impact product performance and customer experience

  • Have high autonomy, and are able to drive projects on your own.

  • Are ambitious and driven, and care a lot about doing great work with great people

This is an in person role at our office in NYC. We’re an early stage company which means that the role requires working hard and moving quickly. Please only apply if that excites you.
