Principal, Global Capability Strategy & Planning

This role partners with the executive sponsor and key stakeholders to shape, evaluate, and operationalize the Blackbaud India workforce strategy spanning the Product and Enterprise Technology Groups. The role drives strategic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and transition planning, translating direction into structured transition roadmaps, governance, and enablement materials across annual and quarterly planning cycles.

Acting as a central point of orchestration across Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, and Technology leadership, this role ensures workforce plans are executable with rigor and confidentiality across a complex, global stakeholder set – providing leadership‑ready insights into how strategy translates into effective hiring, operational efficiency and delivery impact.  Success requires comfort operating across organizational boundaries, facilitating complex discussions, and bringing clarity, discipline, and coherence to a highly distributed, multi‑year transition effort.

What you’ll do:

  • Enable Blackbaud India workforce strategy by partnering with the executive sponsor and stakeholders across Product and Enterprise Technology Groups to model strategic scenarios and tradeoffs (e.g., capacity, cost, timing, risk) and translating that strategic direction into multi‑year transition roadmaps that drive accountability across annual and quarterly planning cycles.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate workforce modeling, forecasting, and reporting, and actively experiment with emerging capabilities as they evolve to improve the speed and quality of insights.
  • Track progress against plans using agreed measures (e.g., hiring velocity, attrition, onboarding effectiveness, and transition readiness), surfacing risks and mitigation actions and translating insights into clear, decision‑supporting updates.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for leaders and teams, answering questions and providing clarity on how strategy translates into execution while acting as the central point of orchestration for transition‑related risks, issues, escalations, and decision support.
  • Lead operating forums and program communications to ensure consistent information flow, clear expectations, and disciplined status tracking – tailoring messages on strategy, plans, progress, and risk for audiences at all levels.
  • Partner with Finance to support workforce budgeting and quarterly forecasting, tracking progress against plan and monitoring budget‑to‑actuals to surface variances, risks, and implications for decision‑making.
  • Serve as the source of truth for how workforce plans translate into approved positions and hiring pipelines, partnering with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and technology leaders to enable hiring execution, onboarding readiness, and training enablement, and coordinating globally to keep execution aligned and predictable.
  • Manage hiring operations with discipline and continuous improvement, including requisition intake, position reviews, and reconciliation across planning and tracking mechanisms, while identifying opportunities to improve scale, quality, and time‑to‑productivity as plans evolve.
  • Maintain confidentiality of workforce planning activities by enforcing disclosure processes and information‑sharing boundaries so sensitive materials are accessible only to approved participants.
  • Define, document, and continuously refine workforce planning, hiring, and operating processes for Blackbaud India, including approval flows, governance, hiring/backfill models, and tracking, and identify where broader enterprise business processes must adapt to support the evolving global operating model.

What we’ll want you to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in workforce planning, transformation, or complex program leadership, preferably in a modern SaaS or product‑led technology organization
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi‑year, cross‑organizational initiatives, with a strong track record of orchestrating cross‑functional work and partnering effectively without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders as a trusted thought partner, contributing analysis, challenging assumptions, and translating strategy into executable plans
  • Strong ability to communicate strategic intent and influence decisions, bridging complex workforce, operating‑model, and financial considerations with business priorities for stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage confidential, high-sensitivity planning initiatives
