Job Summary:

The Category Strategy Head – All Categories is responsible for developing and leading the enterprise strategy for Clear Channel Outdoor’s priority industry categories. This role identifies market opportunities, establishes consistent category strategies, and ensures Sales teams have the insights, solutions, and resources needed to grow revenue within targeted industries.
This leader translates industry trends and client needs into scalable go-to-market strategies. The role provides strategic direction across all categories while ensuring individual category plans align with the company’s broader commercial objectives.

                                                                                                    

Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and lead the overall strategy, vision, and operating model for Clear Channel Outdoor’s industry categories.
  • Identify and prioritize industry categories based on revenue potential, market trends, customer demand, and the company’s capabilities.
  • Establish clear objectives, growth plans, performance measures, and resource priorities for each category.
  • Guide the development of category-specific value propositions, sales narratives, client solutions, and go-to-market plans.
  • Partner with Sales leadership and category leaders to identify opportunities, strengthen pipelines, and expand relationships with priority clients.
  • Translate industry trends, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and performance data into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Ensure category strategies use Clear Channel Outdoor’s digital and traditional out-of-home advertising capabilities effectively.
  • Partner with Marketing, Research and Insights, Creative, Operations, Sales Support, and other teams to develop solutions that address industry-specific client needs.
  • Create consistent processes, tools, and standards that can be used across categories while allowing for differences in each industry.
  • Review performance across categories, identify gaps or emerging opportunities, and recommend adjustments to improve business results.
  • Provide executive leadership with updates on category performance, market opportunities, risks, and recommended investments.
  • Support high-value client opportunities by providing strategic guidance, industry expertise, and executive-level engagement.
  • Build organizational knowledge of priority industries through market research, thought leadership, client insights, and internal education.
  • Lead, develop, and align category strategy leaders and other team members, as applicable.
  • Promote collaboration across categories and share successful strategies, insights, and solutions throughout the organization.
  • Perform other duties and lead strategic initiatives as assigned.

Job Qualifications


Education and Certifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Relevant sales, marketing, media, or industry certifications are a plus.

Work Experience


  • Ten (10) + years’ experience in commercial strategy, sales strategy, business development, advertising, media, or a related field.
  • Five (5) + years’ experience leading teams, enterprise initiatives, or strategies across multiple business units or industry segments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategies that produced measurable revenue growth
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders and leading cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Experience in out-of-home advertising, media, digital advertising, agency services, or another complex B2B sales environment preferred.

  • Employee must have the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.

  • This job is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

Other Requirements


  • Able to travel outside of the office 50% of the time for client meetings, corporate meetings, and industry events. 
  • Has a valid driver's license.Access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Attendance in weekly/monthly meetings is required.
  • This position primarily involves working both in an office environment and in the field, making sales calls, and servicing existing accounts.

                                                                                                     

The Targeted Compensation Range for this NY position is:
Min: $205,000
Max: $305,000
Bonus eligible, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Ultimate compensation will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, scope and responsibility of the position, as well as pursuant to salary market benchmarks. This salary range is a good-faith estimate of the salary for this position.
