About Pursuit

Pursuit is a social impact organization building the future of economic mobility in the age of AI. For over a decade, we’ve transformed lives through immersive training programs that propel adults from low-income backgrounds - often without college degrees - into high-growth tech careers. Our graduates have already generated nearly $1 billion in lifetime wage gains.

Now, as AI reshapes every industry, Pursuit is evolving into an AI-native organization. We’re training AI-native talent, embedding AI into our operations, and building scalable software to extend our impact. From grassroots partnerships to national policy (like our Good Jobs Guarantee), we’re not just filling jobs- we’re rethinking how economic opportunity works at scale.

About the Role

Pursuit is hiring a Head of Job Outcomes to own employment outcomes for Pursuit Builders. This is a zero-to-one leadership role responsible for building strategies, partnerships, system and team  to get Builders hired into high-quality, AI- Native roles. You’ll be the first hire on what will become a new employment function, operating at the intersection of business development, program management and the future of work.

We’re looking for a scrappy, strategic operator who has built and led teams, thrives in ambiguity, and gets energy from designing something new. You’ll build and run the employment function that sits between our Builders and employers, creating pathways, partnerships and products that lead to job outcomes for Pursuit Builders and help ensure the future of work provides opportunity for all.

This role is ideal for someone with early-stage operations or business development background who wants to apply their skills to use AI for good.

  • Build the Jobs Engine: Own the end-to-end process of getting Pursuit Builders hired, managing across both the supply and demand sides to ensure Builder readiness and Employer needs are aligned.
  • Build and Manage Employer Partnerships: Own and grow the employer-side pipeline, and ensure partnerships consistently translate into hiring outcomes for Pursuit Builders.
  • Deliver Job Outcomes for Builders: Convert employer demand into successful Builder hires, by aligning Builder readiness with employer needs, and take accountability for job outcomes including placement volume, quality, and durability
  • Pilot New Programs: Design and run new programs and employer partnerships that lead to Builder hiring. Scope projects, test hypotheses, track outcomes and determine where to double down on efforts
  • Build new AI-driven systems and processes:  Create scalable workflows, tools, operating processes and dashboards that enable cross-functional alignment around placements, employer engagement, and outcomes.
  • Build and manage the employment team: Hire, manage, and develop the employment team as the function scales.
About You
  • 8–12 years in fast-paced, startup or evolving environments, where you’ve taken a program, pilot, or initiative from 0 → 1, often in partnership with external stakeholders—and owned results end to end.
  • Scrappy operator: Proven ability to push work forward in ambiguity, build momentum without perfect information, and create structure where none existed. You prioritize outcomes over process, while knowing when and how to introduce scalable systems.
  • Strategic and Hypothesis Driven: Able to frame ambiguous problems, articulate clear hypotheses, and design pilot initiatives that test assumptions. You use evidence from pilots to decide what to iterate, stop, or scale.
  • Outcomes-oriented: you define success upfront, own a clear set of outcomes, track what matters, and use data and qualitative insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong program and systems builder: You bring rigorous project management skills, can design and maintain shared operating trackers, coordinate complex cross-functional work, and build durable systems from scratch.
  • AI Builder: You’re curious, adaptable, and proactively explore AI tools or AI-native workflows.
  • Confident generalist: Comfortable taking on new challenges and building solutions without prior subject-matter expertise, using first-principles thinking, strong judgment, and rapid learning.
  • Relationship-driven leader: Skilled at managing up, across, and out—able to activate executive leadership networks (including CEO, CDO, and board), build trust with employers and partners, and drive results through strong, durable relationships.
  • Mission-Driven: You care deeply about equity, tech access, and expanding opportunity for underrepresented communities.
