CampusWorks is looking for Advancement Consultants to assist our higher education clients in strengthening their advancement/alumni operations.  These individuals will use their subject matter expertise in the advancement/alumni office to guide clients in adopting best practices and maximizing the use of the technology to support the advancement operations and help clients achieve their goals.  The consulting engagements may be remote or onsite and can include serving as an interim Advancement Director, leading a Business Process Review project, leading a CRM selection and evaluation project, or optimizing their advancement CRM/ERP systems. These roles can be full-time or contract consultant (1099) opportunities. Please specify your preference in the application.
 
CampusWorks consultants engage with our clients in higher education to assist them in fully leveraging their people, processes, policies, and technologies. We work collaboratively with clients’ functional and technical teams and our CampusWorks colleagues to evaluate current processes, design future-state optimal processes, and to architect, develop, test, train, and rollout process and technical solutions that delight our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as Interim Advancement Director, providing day-to-day leadership of the advancement department staff
  • Providing oversight, direction, guidance, and coordination of the current advancement projects and priorities
  • Assessing the efficiency of the advancement department
  • Designing and delivering training
  • Assisting clients in how to best align policy, process, procedures, and personnel to effectively leverage advancement solutions

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior-level advancement professional in a higher education institution
  • Familiarity with the conversion, oversight, or management of a modern fundraising and advancement CRM system (e.g., Ellucian CRM Advance, Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, DonorPerfect, Affinaquest, Salesforce, Banner Advancement, or Colleague Advancement)
  • Experience assessing advancement operations and making recommendations for process improvement, including reviewing and recommending policy changes, staffing and organizational alignment changes, and realignment of roles and responsibilities when appropriate
  • Solid leadership skills, including facilitating diverse groups, creating consensus building and preparing the organization and individuals for change and ongoing continuous improvement
  • Demonstration of superior communication skills and the ability to provide a consultative approach to end clients
