About the Role
Orchard is looking for a People Operations & Workplace Experience Associate to own the day-to-day operations of our New York City office and support HR programs and processes across the company. You’ll be responsible for making sure the office runs smoothly and fostering a sense of community within our NYC team. More broadly, you’ll work closely with the HR team to support the entire employee lifecycle, touching onboarding and offboarding, employee experience, and HRIS management. The ideal candidate will be looking to gain broad exposure to various disciplines within HR and can move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in NYC that reports to the Manager, People Operations / People Operations Lead.
What You’ll Do Here
- As the first point of contact in the New York Office, manage the overall operations and ensure the best experience for employees, guests, candidates, and vendors
- Work closely with IT, support vendors, building management, and other stakeholders to ensure the office is running smoothly at all times
- Coordinate seamless new hire onboarding experiences and manage offboarding processes, ensuring every employee starts and finishes their journey on a great note.
- Work closely with the People team to support projects and day-to-day tasks related to the employee lifecycle. Some examples include administering promotions and transfers, completing employment verifications, and maintaining employee data in our HRIS and other systems
- Partner with managers and HR team members to address employee questions, escalate issues as needed, and keep HR workflows moving
- Plan and execute employee-facing events and programs to create an engaging and inclusive employee experience
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:
- 2+ years of previous administrative, workplace, or office operations experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a customer service mindset.
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills and follow-through even in sometimes ambiguous situations.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to find elegant solutions before they become major issues.
- Excited and eager about working in HR, gaining hands-on experience, and a passion for employee experience and engagement.
- Strong teamwork & stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and relationships across a broad set of individuals and teams
- Superior judgement, including discretion around confidential and sensitive information
The pay range for this position in New York City is $65,000-80,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary within the range provided depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the New York City Human Rights Law. Please note that the range provided is applicable only to New York City-based applicants. Base compensation may vary if the work location is outside of New York City.
